I have just ordered from day2dayshop.com and following payment I clicked on the link to 'save £10 on your next purchase'. I didn't complete the form, but instead googled shopper discounts and rewards and came here. Since I did pay for my order with my credit card, can I now expect the fee to be taken off my card without my permission?0

If I were you I would contact my card issuer and tell them not to accept any debit from Shopper Discounts and Rewards.0

Sounds like an ambulance down in the valley, when what we need is a fence at the edge of the cliff!0 -
i just found today that i had money missing from bank when i called (A&L) they told me it was shoppersdiscount and a phone number i called and instantly got asked for credit card so thinking once bitten once shy i suddenly forgot my details(wink wink) after an hour on the phone to what seemed like an outscoursed call center i got an indian lady who said all kinds of rubish and seem to be just keeping me on the phone so i called the bank back.
no this time they seem to know all about it and instantly cancelled all my accounts as compromised and issuing new cards pins ect..
and to my shock told me when i get the new cards the payments (9months of) will be credited into my account
the easiest fight i ever had with a bank, i have no is=dea where they got my details i only remeber booking ryanair online, but i do seem to remember the £10 discount banner from somewhere..
wish id seen this thread months ago....dohhhh...:T0 -

I have just fallen for the classic mistake of not checking my CC bill thoroughly and for the past 4 months Shopper Discounts have debited £8 from my account - £32 in total! From what I can tell from the other people in this thread, it happened after we flew with EasyJet.
I DID NOT knowingly authorise any such payments to be made, have not received any indication that they are taking money from me (other than my CC payment) and have never used any of their services, so have just written an email to them asking for a full refund.
If I do not get this I will take the matter to the Citizens Advice and Trading Standards.
I have gone from printed to online statements and the only reason I noticed it was that this was the first bill in months to only have a few item on it. I am normally very keen on saving money, but it just goes to show how easily you can be duped and how easy it is to miss somthing especially if you don't know your paying for it.

I have just had a response from Shopper DIscount saving that they would refund ALL my money in ten days. in the email they wrote -Our records show that you or someone in your household joined the Shopper Discounts and Rewards programme after completing an online transaction with easyJet‚ on *****. After your transaction you were offered the opportunity to join the Shopper Discounts and Rewards‚ and you chose to join. Immediately next to the offer‚ the Offer and Billing Details were displayed. By entering your email address twice as an electronic signature and clicking 'yes' to accept the Terms and Conditions‚ you authorised us to charge the monthly membership fee of £8 to the credit card or debit card you used for your transaction with easyJet‚ after your free 30 day trial period ended.
We try to make our offer as clear as possible by mentioning the £8 monthly membership fee numerous times on the registration page‚ as well as placing the Offer and Billing details directly next to the offer and sending out 5 Post-Join Service Reminder emails during the free trial period‚ including a Pre-Bill Notification email. However‚ we apologise if you feel the offer was not made clear enough for you.
if you believe that you “try to make our offer as clear as possible” by ONLY allowing customers to sign up for a PAYING product by “entering your email address twice as an electronic signature and clicking 'yes' to accept the Terms and Conditions”, then I feel you are sverly misguided. This procedure is more akin to signing up for a forum or a FREE scheme , not making an internet purchase.
There is NO point at which you re-ask for my Credit Card Details
There was NO emailed receipt or Invoice
All of your Emails have been blocked as Spam due to their advertising nature.
At NO Point do you send a simple text email stating what has happened.
I personally think this is VERY bad practice. You would not expect (after paying for goods in a store), that if you were asked a couple of questions on the way out (maybe to sign up to a shop scheme), that the store would surreptitiously re-use your credit card information and charge up for something extra. This would be classed as fraud, but it is exactly what you are doing.

Thanks to all for help with this. I was conned by expedia and paid 3 £8's out before I realised what was going on. I rang 08082341539 got through in 2 minutes and as advised spoke to human who was very pleasant and only too happy to help. She only needed my name and address details (no credit card or mship number) At first she was just going to cancel but when I said I wanted a refund she said I'd have it in 10 days. They must be making an absolute fortune out of people who dont check their statements or dont bother to do anything. Thanks again.0

Like someone else I have been examining my credit card statements just viewing the "big picture" totally missing the insidious £8 per month. I emailed the culprits threatening police intervention and a prompt reply was received telling me that a total refund of £80 will be credited within 10 days. The thing is I never received any plastic card which, ostensibly, would produce the shopper's discount at named stores. What are credit company security people doing about this ?0
