Just checked my bank balance and have had a mysterious £6.95 payment to PTI Europe Region. Anyone else know what this is for? There isn't much on google at the moment, but there seem to be at least a couple of other reports of things like this.

hi, i have just checked my statement and had this same thing on my statement, called Lloyds to sort it out and was told that it is AOL!? Not sure but going to check up on this, I have had my account cleared out before so am very suspicious!0

I've seen this on my statement too, turned out to be Amazon.0

Hi I have had a couple of payments also go out of my account for £9.95. I was getting worried until I checked what payments were due out. And it was these two payments that were due. I also did a bit of research on the internet. It seems that a number of companies payments are showing up as PTI Europe Region GBP. AOLAmazonNapsterGoogle (Adwords)YahooWeightWatchersVistaprintAncestryThere are also probably many more.I think someone has made a serious error on this.0

I am guessing there are going to be a lot of people calling their banks to check as it looks dodgy on your statement and my first thought was errr i dont recognise the name...panic! :eek:0 -
This from the Digital Spy forum :-
I have also just checked a recent statement and the amount for an item I bought through amazon is showing as PTI EUROPE REGION. I emailed amazon and they said the following - "Please be informed that PTI Europe is an internal Amazon reference for the payment operations services "
So it does look as though it's legit. I imagine that some company called PTI has been given the contact to process payments from the above companies such as AOL and Amazon. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I've had 'PTI Europe Region' appear on my Bank statement too for £6.99. It matches up with my Amazon DVD rental monthly payment, but the last one showed up as ' AMZAUK DVD RENTAL'. Have they just changed the way they process the payments?0

Today I've had £305 paid INTO my account by PTI Europe Regionand was mystified as to what it could be as I wasn't expecting any deposits
After reading this thread I now suspect it's a credit in connection with a fraudulent transaction on my account from a week or so ago when some bar steward spent £343 with an American clothing company using MY card details.
Wonder when they intend to refund me the other £38 ??
I was also 'done' for £1000 ish on another account but not all the details are showing on that statement yet.
Suffice it to say, I reported the fraudulent activity on both accounts immediately I discovered them and I was re-assured by both banks that I will not suffer any financial loss as a result of this /*&)*%$"! 's efforts to bankrupt me :eek:0 -

Just checked my bank statement online and had the same thing - £27.00 to PTI EUROPE.
Thank you to whoever posted that it turned out to be Amazon - indeed I have just spent £27.00 with Amazon! I was going stir-crazy trying to work out what this was!
Don't know why it just doesn't say "Amazon" on the statement as I didn't buy the item from a seller, but from Amazon UK.0
