Full holding
I won £150 this month.
1 X £100
1 X £50
so probably got more in Premium bonds this month than i would in a Savings Account.0 -
I'm selling all but £100 of our bonds, decided to keep £100 in two of the 1st £50 re-investment prizes, probably forever, just so that I'm still in with a smidgen of a chance, like the smallest ever, but it will keep me from thinking I'm missing out not buying lottery tx and the like.
Why I am cashing in?
We're going on a blow out holiday to Orlando!!
Yeeha

If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?0 -
does it automatically pay you out or do you need to check it? I just realised I took £100 worth out in January and have never checked it. I know £100 isn't much but still - if you don't buy a ticket you can't win the raffle.........I have no more money to give - all you companies out there - do your worst - I give in!!0

Providing they have your correct address they will automatically send you the cheques. If it's a high value prize you are sent a form to complete which you must return with the winning bond which is then returned to you.0 -
After 3 years and no wins, I have requested repayment of my £1k into my account, that's going straight into the 6.1% from A&L.
Stats indicate that with average luck I should've won a prize each 24 months. It was exciting I suppose... exciting that is, to lose over £150 in interest over 3 years:wall:

I only have £100 in PB and our little son has £150. This way I do not feel that I am loosing on the interest (it is not significant). We have the rest of our savings in the high interest saving accounts. I think this is the best way because you still have a chance to win. If it meant to be you will win even with £1.0

just viewed a house today - well over my budget, nipped onto premium bonds site to see if fate would kick in - not for me, but yeah my little one won £50 again (£100 total this year), better than the £4.odd pence he received in his nationwide kids account last year.Give blood - its free0

joining your ranks, guys.
bought £3,000 worth on Friday.
Technically I already hold 'half' a Premium bond as I was given one (yep 1!) as a christening present in 1970. It was split half for me and half for my Mum!
Oddly enough it has never won.
Anyway, I'm going to keep them there for two or three years as a bit of a gamble and then move them back to my high interest account if I don't win."Stay Wonky":D

In total, 4 of my dads brothers, and my dad (total 5) have a max holding of £30k IN PBs each bought 3 yrs ago. So far as a whole have generated a return of only 3.3% - we only held on to them because 2 of them won £1k each in their 3rd month, but since then there have been dribs and drabs of £50s. Really considering cashing them in!! My dads last win was June - £50!!!
They were bought in 10K bundles over a period of 3 months.0 -
more evidence that fresh bonds win more prizes .....
when will this evidence end ? , i just keep on hearing it from holders experiences.
and on another note , when will a premium bond holder come forward and claim he or she is a one million winner.
in my 39 years of life , ive never met one , seen one , heard of one , or read about one (except on the ns&i website) ..... ok the prizes used to be 250k , but ive never heard of one of them either , thats 468 people out there in my life time alone, and they all have friends and family , where are they , why havnt they spoken.
martin has a voice , hes produced a calculator , maybe he should ask the real question , is there really a 1 million £ prize.
come on ns&i.... where are they, if they even exist.0
