I put X amount of money into the bonds on 1st Sep. However, it says the first draw is November because you have to wait a full calendar month. Does it now make sense to withdraw and put back in around the end of September? In the mean time, I can earn interest on a current account. Have I understood right?
Actually, if you've not already withdrawn... I think they cancel the oldest bonds first? So the ones you just bought will still wait for the Nov draw.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong (and apologies if that's the case)
You’re right, the oldest bonds get cashed first, but they do have an online form to request specific bonds to be cashed. I used it last month as I wanted to leave a £25 bond from 1985 in the draw (sentimental reasons, as it was one I had given to me in my younger years, although I’ve never won anything on it). It was very quick, requested withdrawal day after the draw and money was in my bank account two days later.

Thanks both. I had some that are eligible for October so I filled the form for the latter bonds. I wouldnt have found this if you both hadnt mentioned! It does say up to 8 days to clear though..!
  • @DJSINGH, I’ve withdrawn twice and both times I’ve received the funds within two days even though I had the message saying up to 8 days to clear, so hopefully it will be the same for you 🤞

£325 this month.  On Max holding.

So far my first 7 draws have given me

    March  £75
    April   £350
    May   £425
    June  £225
    July   £150
    Aug   £300
    Sept  £325

Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.
  • It is dispiriting reading how much others with a full holding have won. My FH has so far given me a pathetic return. My first draw was in February:

    Feb: £25
    Mar: £150
    Apr: £100
    May: £175
    Jun: £50
    Jul: £0
    Aug: £150
    Sep: £125

Running total: £775 (= annualised interest rate of 2.3%)

You are not alone. Mine hasn't been great either apart from a £300 prize in July's draw.
  • Ps. I know it's supposed to be totally random luck but it still seems odd that some people appear to be winning consistently, significantly higher amounts. Or is it just that all the others like me are keeping quiet ?! If so, let me know because "misery loves company"

    You're luckier than me - I'm on 2.1% annualised

    Sep £0
    Aug £125
    Jul £100
    Jun £25
    May £125
    Apr £150

Still, we're both incredibly lucky to have full holdings. Bear in mind that 1.85 billion people (26% of the global population) lived below the threshold of $3.65 a day and 3.71 billion (46% of the global population) lived below the threshold of $6.85 a day in 2022...

Just a question, we have withdrawn premium bonds but hit the "close my account" button by mistake.

Does anyone know what happens? Do they just leave your old holders number and login details with £0 bonds, and you an later buy some more, or are you eradicated from their systems?
