It's not what the thread was started for, but it's undoubtedly what it's become! As can be seen from the first post, it was intended to collate data not just about winnings but dates of purchase, in order to validate, or disprove, OP's (readily debunked) theory that newer bonds win more prizes, but long since descended into a simple 'show and tell' thread....nic_c said:
Yes, that's exactly what this thread is for.ColdIron said:I can't see the point of this thread, just random people posting wins or grumbles about no winsBut I won £750 this month. Woo Hoo. Hurrah. Yay

Does it matter - it's an 18 year old thread and the OP hasn't been here for over 10 years. I think it's fabulous that it's still going.
If people don't like the direction it has taken, they're perfectly welcome to just ignore it, same as I do with the many threads I know nothing about.4 -

No, it doesn't matter, I was just observing (in the context of a question about what the thread was for) that the thread changed tack but it wouldn't have taken long to answer the original question anyway, and as you say, OP disappeared ages ago!BooJewels said:Does it matter - it's an 18 year old thread and the OP hasn't been here for over 10 years. I think the earlier comment about what the thread was about was tongue in cheek - at least that's how I read it - but then others started to comment too.eskbanker said:

(I love this thread)
My wife bought 1 block of £25k in 2021. Her winning rate is 1.45%
I bought 25 blocks of £1000 over a 25 month period.......
Guess who has the higher return rate.0 -
£150 for me (25, 25 & 100) on approx £39.5K. I'm happy enough with that this month and certainly much better than July's blank.Jan £0, Feb £150, Mar £75, Apr £25, May £0, Jun £525, Jul £0, Aug £150.Total so far this year £925, I'm around the average expected return, Would be very poor without June's £500.Save £12,000 in 2024: £17,500 out of £12,000.Save £12,000 in 2025: £0 out of £12,000.0

Most would say it makes no difference, but I'd rather buy bonds the way you did.0 -

I only won £100 this month. £32K holding. Let the streak continue and hope it's a bigger prize next month.
btw, I thought they always reveal the prize on the 4th of the month, how comes it's already out with it being the 2nd? Not complaing. Just wondering.0
