Nice one Natasha. I have Premium Bonds in my name, only a few quid though. I've had them since I was born. So I have the account and am going to start buying bonds soon, at the moment I'm going to put my savings in my ISA but drip feed the bonds. Thinking of a 80:20 split in favour of the ISA.

Yup, the ISA takes priority for me although the psychology of Premium Bonds is incredibly powerful (and fun!).

Good luck for the anniversary draw everyone; fingers crossed someone on MSE gets lucky!

My own experiences are a bit up and down. I use the direct debit function and invest per month. I have won about £50 but I tend to cash them in after a while to spend on something. I have just cashed in £900 to pay off a loan and have about £600 left. As I invest every month my bonds are quite new but I wouldn't say I won that much. My 2 year old son has about £3100 in bonds and has won £50 in December. It is all his child benefit/tax credit money and gifts. I was going to see if I could get him to the maximum by the time he is 18 and see how much he wins but other things in future may torpedo this idea I guess.

Read the other day that the quantity of prizes will be increasing for the June and July draws. 30000 extra to be precise !

All good - keep it coming !

Main difference being a seriously higher number of £50 prizes with a further additional 129,000 £50 prizes to 1.3 million in total....there is a significant reductiuon with fewer £100's - falling from 237,000 to 122,000 prizes.......all the other prize quantities increase - eg £50,000 prizes will rise from 33 in May 2007 to 58 in July 2007. £100,000 prizes almost doubling from 17 to 30

Numbers are skewed slightly for the anniversary June draw...

Good luck for June people !!

    Thanks for the congrats everyone.

I think I'll hang on to it as it'll just about cover a capital gains tax bill I'll be getting in January so I'll stick it in my HiSave account.

Of course I would have been buying rounds tonight if I wasn't watching the England game:D ;)
