Well done Capstain411 - lucky or what! Whether you put them back in now or save up to buy a larger group of bonds depends on which of the theories you buy in to I suppose. If you sign up to say that you want your winnings to be automatically reinvested at least you wont go out and blow them on something else. I like to save mine until I have a couple of hundred at least to reinvest.0

I have about around £23K in P Bonds in which I have been investing odd amounts spasmodically since 1960 when you could buy them for £1 each. I have won 47 prizes, always of £50 or £100 and in total have won £27500

That's an average of one a year Primrose. Would you say you felt it was worth it - I suppose if you wanted to put that amount in to a savings account you would get a better return - have you always put the money back in?0
-
Well, only £50 but as I've only had £250 in there for six months, it's not a bad little return0
-
Well done! Maybe more next month!0

Nice one Natasha. I have Premium Bonds in my name, only a few quid though. I've had them since I was born. So I have the account and am going to start buying bonds soon, at the moment I'm going to put my savings in my ISA but drip feed the bonds. Thinking of a 80:20 split in favour of the ISA.0

This is taken from the NSI website:
Who may buy and hold Bonds
17. Bonds may only be held in the name of one individual person. You may only buy Bonds:
(a) for yourself if you are aged 16 years or over;
(b) for a child under 16 years if you are their parent, grandparent, great grandparent, or guardian; or
(c) on behalf of and in the name of a mentally disordered person if you are his or her receiver.0 -
