I put only 1k in on a whim before New year and just won £50. Nice.
    Time to withdraw.

First month with a combined £100k as the wife put £50k of her inheritance into Premium Bonds. Zero prizes between us. The calculator below says that with £100k, there's a 98% chance of winning £25 at least once, 90% chance of winning £50 and 70% chance of winning £100, so we're proof that luck is part of the draw.

Approx £1000 from 10 months (max savings). Not good.... The money's going into an isa fix now £20,000 now and £20,000 after 6 April. Hopefully the rates stay good till then...

Zero on max following blank February.
As I said last month funny how chance works 4 prizes in Jan, zero in Feb & Mar.
Does make me think winners often come from groups of numbers

That's a greater than 2% return annualised and covers a time when returns were lower, so not too bad. Way more than I've got back in my entire bond owning life. Never even got above £25.

I've just more or less ditched them now. At 2.85% I'll just leave them in the savings account to at least guarantee a return. I've ended up feeling far more disappointed every month than a 'bit of fun' ought to elicit.

I haven't posted in a while but the last few months' results on full holdings:

    November: £100
    December: £100
    January: £0
    February: £125
    March: £25
    SAVER o:)

    Feb-23 £700
    Mar-23 £375

We have had great returns on PB over the last two months (not quite the £1m, but they were nice surprises) and have won more in 2 months than we have had in the whole of the previous rolling year!

Hoping it stays that way, will give it another couple of months.
  • £300 this month. Best month ever. Friends miffed as they’ve both full holdings and zilch for both this month. I have 44k which fluctuates as it’s easy to cash in if I need the money and reinvest when I can

Agree that certain bonds win more than others.  For example in the list of main prizes this month Bond number 246JD came out twice for the same person from West Sussex winning 25k+5k (bond amount just over 39k)  Coincidence or bias? Tend to think the latter.
