I have a question. Why does anyone want to tell anyone else what happened on a random draw like PBs, or care what anyone else won or didn't win?
I expect I will be reported for this sacrilegious thought.1 -
If you look at post #1 from 2005, the original intention was to validate (or otherwise) the theory that new bonds are luckier than old ones, but over the years it did largely turn into an extended 'show and tell' rather than anything to support meaningful analysis, but has been punctuated by occasional myth debunking and other debate about the product's characteristics....aroominyork said:I have a question. I think it's human nature for most people to want to share positive things which happen to them. And why not? . Probably no different from somebody sharing news of their favourite football team winning with a stranger over a pint at the pub !aroominyork said:I have a question. I expect I will be reported for this sacrilegious thoughtI don't think anybody will report you; only feel at little sad that you can,t seem to feel any pleasure at something nice happening to other people,2 -
As well as enjoying a win on the PB (£75 this month on full holding) I like seeing other people getting a bit of luck in the draw, just read a post where someone got £500 in the November draw and saying it would make their Christmas. What's not to like.

So it started as a fourth rate polytechnic's research project.eskbanker said:

But Primrose's post two on from yours is of course fair. If I won £1m I'd doubtless want to tell folk, so it's just a matter of degrees.0 -
I love seeing what everyone's won! Even though you can read all the statistics about prize odds and winnings, it's interesting to see what some 'real' people have won and whether you're doing better or worse than them. And to see some 'real life' examples of people who have won a larger prize (£500+) gives me hope that I could be next. I mean, if you have friends or relatives with premium bonds, aren't you ever curious to know what they've won each month? I know everyone on here is a stranger, so it's a bit different, but it's still fun to hear how everyone has done.aroominyork said:I have a question. It was just my logical brain wanting its day in the sun. So let's get back to the prizes. (£25 this month on 45k.)Girl_Overboard said:
