The fact is £50k max holders are getting massively lower proportinate retuns compared to small holders, you only need to look at past posts on here, for whatever reason who knows.

On average we should have had 20 x £25 wins, but have actually got ZERO,if you think thats not suspicious then thats your look out.Makes no difference to us since its cash out time and its an extra £100k in to vanguard. I will post in the morning to let you know how much the £100k got us in this months draw when I check, but i already know it will be another ZERO.
Perhaps the number of small holders massively outnumbers the number of max holders? So in your analysis you are seeing that as a bias?

We're planning on buying £20k worth in September, for November's draw.

It would be somewhat ironic if DH's current holding of £21 then won a prize!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

    Thank you,

So how does one end up with a holding of £1001 if the min prize is £25 and £1000 was bought in a block?

A relative bought me £2 of premium bonds when I was born many years ago.
We've been sorting out my In-laws belongings recently, and found some that my wife's Father had bought her when she was born - £5.50! Also some that her Father bought her Mother when she was born - £3.00 - not sure why the different figures!!

How do I go about telling NS&I about my MIL's passing? Is it worth it for such a small holding?

My mother bought me £100 as a birthday gift many years ago with nothing at all so far, so not holding out much hope. We will be upping our holding in a short while though.

Is there a "formula" for buying? One big block, or a few smaller ones? All blocks in the same month, or spread over a few months?
It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end....

£100 won on my £50K today. 1.5% over the past 6 months.  By contrast, my husband has won only £150 in the past 6 months, so a paltry 0.6%.  Still better than Marcus though.

Langtang .  Bonds may have been cashed in at some time, but just in case,  I would have thought  you may as well get the numbers checked out in case there's been a win but  rellies have failed to pass on changes of address to NS&I.
