I've had a full £50k holding for 2 years, and won a paltry £125 (5x £25) in that time - 2x £25 in Month 1 (thought I was off to a good start!), £25 in Month 6, a 1-year gap then 2x £25 in Month 18. Nothing in the last 6 months, and no larger prize than £25.

My wife has had a smaller £10k holding for 8 months and won her first prize of £1000 last month - she has much better luck than me!
Nothing for a year on full £50k holding is very unlucky I hope my £50k which go into first draw in March have better luck
I would sell and re buy new bonds. But will lose a couple of draws.
Without using references to superstition, why would you do that?
I understand fully that statistically there is no different and every bond has the same chance. BUT I found that when I have purchased newer bonds they have seemed to win a lot more. Whether this is because they or new, or I bought them in a big bank whereas before it was in blocks, I don't know.

Just done the same thing myself. Due to very low wins for a few years with 'small blocks' of numbers, I cashed in all of my MAX holding at the beginning of Jan then bought the MAX holding in just one block, again last night. OK, I now have to wait until the April draw but I think it's worth a try. I did this because a relative has for the past 2 years, won each and every month with his one block of £50,000. I appreciate it's 'probably' all about luck BUT who knows! :-)
As discussed last time this came up earlier this month, it's a fallacy that changing bonds to bigger blocks improves luck, but of course most who have below-average luck will start to have average luck or better at some point anyway - if this happens to coincide with changing bonds (as it naturally will for some who change) then the confirmation bias will kick in and they'll proudly claim that it's because of changing their holding!  Of course, those who change their bonds and have worse (or similar) luck thereafter won't return to post about it....

Thanks for your input. I shall report back and let everyone know what happens :-)

Everyone knows that trick only works if you also stroke a black cat twelve times on the Tuesday after the Thursday on which you recited the new testament backwards three times (unless it's a full moon in which case it's the old testament twice) whilst wearing an amulet made of jade. So your efforts have now been entirely futile.

I'd just sell the jade amulet and retire!

If this site: https://premiumbondsprizes.com/detailed#50000 is accurate, then someone with a £50,000 holding has more chance of winning £1 million over a one year period than they do of winning nothing. If you don't do so already, I would have a look at my online account to check all is well.

According to this article the million pound winners will find out they have won on Sunday.

It will make checking the results on Tuesday just that little bit less exciting!

....and the winners of all decent-sized (>£5K) prizes are published (in anonymised form) on the first working day, so Monday will also kill some hope (for most) and bring pleasant surprises (for a few) ahead of the bulk of the prizes being announced the next day!

  • Good luck to everyone in this months draw. I’ve had my bonds since Oct 2017. Most I won in a draw was in last months which was 1 x £500 and 1 x £25 both from the same block of £6,600.
I started with £11,000 and increased gradually since £2017.
Most I have won in a single draw is
£525, two £75’s, 2 x £50’s and the rest £25’s. Longest gap without winning was eight months. I have won in total £1050 so far. I have 162 different blocks and have won from a £100 block and twice from £25 blocks.
Just some stats for fun 😊
  • Forgot to add I have just over £22,000 invested now.
