First ever win! £25 prize
£1500 held for about 10 months?0 -
won £25 in my first draw with a holding of about 7k0

I know it's 100% random every month but the perception is different and I can't help wonder sometimes:
£15k - 2 x £25 in first eligible draw
4 x £25 over the next 7 months draws
nothing whatsoever in next 7 again monthly draws
Relative suggests putting more in as that'll help (more than just having a few more bonds).
Invest around £5k in Dec 2019
January 2020 (new bonds not yet eligible of course) win 1 x £25
February 2020 - 2 x £25 wins from bonds in the new batch in their first draw!
My wins are automatically reinvested.
Anecdotal but still.......... I presume this is why new bonds must miss next draw to draw people constantly cashing in and buying new ones.0 -
I know it's 100% random every month ...
Well, "know" is a bit strong, but you'd hope so..;)
The best available evidence to 5-figure investors is the long-term return. At present this should be approaching 1.26% p.a.
Here it is currently 1.25%. That's a fluke, but the long-term trend is pretty steady. All £25 prizes, btw.I presume this is why new bonds must miss next draw to draw people constantly cashing in and buying new ones.
To discourage, yes. There is a widespread belief that old bonds are stale. I have three bonds from the original A series and they've never won - so it must be so..:rotfl:0 -
Nothing since September on £15000. And only one £25 on that amount from May last year.0

I would always compare it to elsewhere - had I put the value of my bonds in my Marcus account I would have got taxable £60. I got tax free £25 in the draw this month, so after 40% tax broadly the same but I’ll keep it under review.....Logged in to check my wins as couldn't wait for an email (or no email!), it seems people get the email on different days and I just want to know instead of hoping for a few days then not getting an email.
This month I have won £25 on my almost max holding.
Was hoping for more but really just because of a good win last month! At least it is something as I know some people won't have got anything this month so I am grateful!

Just had my 15th month with £8,000 holiday.
I haven't had a win yet. Feeling rather unlucky.0 -

may seem a dull question, i believe the max amount is 50k in an account, if you have 50k in your account and win one month, does that add to the max you have or do you have to take some out so it stays within the 50k limit?0

They send you a cheque, dd95, or you can have it sent straight to your nominated bank.
