Looking at the winnings mentioned here I doubt very much if having £30k-50K in PB's and only wining £100 is very tax efficient if you factor in inflation.
I will still make more in a Marcus account and I get that return every month.
YOU may well get more. For some, however, PBs are a good idea - as quirky identified and as I elaborated.
A substantial holding of PBs delivers 1.26%. That's the equivalent of 1.58% for those paying basic rate on their savings; 2.10% for higher.0 -
I invested £1000 I will be in this month draw. When are they drawn and when would I be informed (email) if i did . I know I am not holding my breath lol
From what I've experienced the NS&I email informing you of any prizes can come through anytime between the 3rd and the 7th of the month.
If you want to check before that you can (with your NS&I holders's number) on the NS&I homepage - they normally update the prize checker by the second working day of each month
NS&I have a prize checker app too.
If you are registered for their online service you can also log in to your NS&I account and see any prizes there.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
is it me but I cannot see the point of buying premium bonds as I get a far better rate of return with a Marcus account.
And Marcus doesn’t give you the chance of possibly winning a million and some smaller big sums. I have a Marcus account as well.
I would rather have PB’s than play the national lottery( I don’t btw) as your ‘stake’ isn’t lost.0 -
£25, first since June 2017 on £2055 held. Might bung another couple of £K.0
