Well I just had a look at our percentage return for the last two years.

I won exactly the same amount in 2013 and 2014.
    2013 return = 1.2%
    2014 return = 1.2%

My better half has done a little better though.
    2013 return = 1.25%
    2014 return = 1.4%

Is it worth it? Well that will always be for debate. It is averaging about 1.5% before tax with the chance of luck getting something bigger. Not sure what the average inflation is for the past two years but I'm guessing I'm a shade down on it.

I have other investments in various other pots so its part of a spread.

To me, it is a decent enough return to warrant leaving them there. A lot of people say Premium Bonds are a no no but I don't see it that way.

The answers you get from the New Q will prove that mathematically you will get with Luck 1 win per month. That has a high probability of being a £25 win as there are 1.7 Million £25 prizes per month.
If you get better Luck then you may win a bigger prize or multiple prizes.

The whole idea that asking for people to post their wins on a forum message board will "prove" anything "mathematically" is deeply flawed, no matter what question is being asked.

Nowt again too. Wondering what my 40,000 soldiers doing in the draw each month.

I've started to reinvest prizes so can see my holdings have increased by £25 for the January draw, although it isn't listed as a prize as yet.

I've had £30,000 since May and increased to £35,000 in November. Won £375 in that time which isn't too bad I think.

Not looking good for me £40,000 and nothing to show for it this month it seems.
  • I logged in to my account mid afternoon and it showed no wins.

Just checked again now and it shows 1 x £25 for January.:)

Hope this is a good sign for the new year!!

Good luck all of you premium bond lovers.
