One small advantage of the Irish ones would be lower minimum purchase (€25 vs £50 in UK). One major disadvantage would be exchange rate risk - since 15 October, a hundred Euros has gone from being worth £80 to just under £78.50. That's your expected return for more than a year, lost in about a fortnight.0 -
2 x£25 for me.
My overall return over the past 2 years is running at 1.24%, tax free, which compares OK with a savings account with relatively easy access, so happy to keep as a small part of a portfolio for the moment.0 -
Since 2009 I've won on average £25 monthly/bimonthly. This month on the old max. holdings I've won (drum roll....) £100:rotfl:Free thinker.:cool:0

2 x £25 on £40,000 holding. Our son has recently purchased £5,000 of bonds and in the first draw he won £100 and this month (2nd draw), he has won £250

Nothing for me this month on about £25k holding although I did get 3 x £25 last month so not feeling too hard done by.
Will have £40k from Dec draw.0 -
I did say I won 3 x£25 but checking the online checker to confirm it's saying 4x£25 on £40000 holding :T0

Damn this cruel world. Not reading this thread anymore"And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row."
– after beating Jimmy Connors at the January 1979 Masters. Gerulaitis had lost their previous 16 matches.0 -

Tony can you share your portfolio split between PB and other investments?
Reading through this thread, its clear PB is a fun scheme to deposit a small amount but it can't be considered a serious investment . .
Can anyone suggest what should be the ideal PB share in one's portfolio?
I currently have about 80% of my savings in PB, clearly paying the price with an annual return (so far) of less than 0.5 %..0
