Let's be honest. The purpose is also to have a bit of a whine in the dry spells and a bit of a boast (and share the joy, obviously) when our luck's in.

Although if you had put the £30k in an instant access account paying 1.5% (net) you would have an extra £100 by now. I do however understand the psychological pull of the BIG prizes.

That's all very well, but the odds of winning even £1000 or more with PBs is significantly less than winning the jackpot in the lottery!

I’ve just received the magic email I mentioned earlier here.
Large yellow caption saying congratulations, good news from Ernie etc.
I thought for a moment that this must be a big one that justifies such an elaborate email. But alas it was only the usual £25. OH! Well here’s to the next time.

  • Yes it's like the old lottery emails that used to say EXCITING NEWS! only to tell you you'd won £1.70 on the euros.

2nd month in a row with zero wins on £35k holding.. had a good first quarter though so im going to be patient.. if nothing happens between now and end of year then i'll gradually start moving money into savings accounts.

How many people here have PB as more than 50% of their portfolio??

I'm at 71% unfortunately so a no win here means the majority of my net worth made no return for that month.
