Hi i'm new to this site and also new to Premium Bonds, I bought 28k in two lots in March so qualified for this months draw, I checked out the prize checker at nsandi.com every few ticks or so (since Mayday) lol, but have hit a blank, How does this add to the theory that ernie favours the new investor.

Tricky, did you check it today, since your bonds will only have come onto the database (if they won) from this morning (the May draw) onwards....?

If so, and you haven't won, I'm very surprised. With a 28K investment you should be winning, on average, around 70 quid a month.

Yay!! £50 win on a £50 bond, which itself was a £50 win in April 2004.:D (I automatically reinvest the wins).

    Every little helps;)

Bought £3000 in Jan 2006 - so far...

    March 06.......£0
    April 06..........£0
    May 06...........£50 (whoo hoo!)

Thought I hadn't won in May as I checked on the 3rd and it said I hadn't won anything for May but after reading the thread and being confused re. it being yesterday that bonds went up I checked again and found the £50. Very happy now. Have a further £3000 in next months draw! It was just sitting in the bank with 0% interest before (as I want to access it instantly if necessary). Feel very chuffed with myself.

thanks for starting this toipic, I had £100 of bonds 20 years ago and cashed them in 10 years ago having won nothing. I was thinking about re-investing as a form of 'safe gambling' but wasnt' sure it was worth it for the paltry amount i'll invest, some posts here have convinced me it's worth it.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

My partner originally bought £1000 of Premium Bonds less than 3 years ago. A month later he bought another £5000. Since then he's had five wins of £50 which we were quite happy with.
This month he rang me up on the 3rd to tell me that a letter had come saying he had won £100,000!
I thought he was having me on but it was true!
It was also from the first block of a £1000 that he bought!
We reinvested £24,000 in Premium Bonds straight away and are thinking of me getting some too.
I used to listen to the conspiracy theories and wonder if it was worth keeping them in but now I can answer definitively.
    KEEP THEM IN!!!
It could be one of you guys next!
Sorry for the silliness but I'm still giddy about it.
Who knows, could be the million next month!
