My wife and I both have the maximum allowance in premium bonds and have failed to win anything over the past 3 months. Time to bail out I think.0

We have them, but only 100 pp. As they really aren't savings so much as stake safe gambling.
I would never hold thousands really.
Winning is fun though ;-)0 -

Same here, twice these past eighteen months I have gone a full five months without winning anything,:(:(strange when they state that with (average) luck you can expect 15 prizes a year.
And,don't you think it strange that you never hear of anyone winning the big one. With all the internet activity you would surely expect someone to post "whoo hoo i've won a million quid" but maybe I am just a cynic.:cool:0 -
It does seem random. I seem to get an amount almost every month, and have an annualised three per cent over the last six months, but my miss us with a slightly smaller holding has only one or two per year.0

There is no point worrying one month to the next. The way I look at it as long as you are investing in an ISA then you may as well speculate with the rest. There should be a cost of that and it's called forgone interest. When interest rates rise so do the levels of prizes and the number of prizes, it's those time to look forward to. And the special knock at the doorPlan

£50 for me this month. :A Well, it's better than nothing...
Although I also think that their 'calculator' is wrong. With the maximum allowance, I only won £250 for 10 months.0 -
I have £9500 of Bonds and i average a £25 every other month, i had £75 - 3 wins in Nov then nothing Dec, Jan then £25 this month. Recently have gone nothing longer than 3 months without a £25 win. Highest win to date is £100. I have two nieces with £1k each and both have had within a year of purchase a £50 win each.0
