Holdings: £7
Winnings: Zero, zilch, nada, niemals, nowt.:(
Length of time held: since the year they came out!
I inherited this money by an old friend of my mother's, as a child I ran errands for her. IMHO, Bonds are a complete scam. Surely the purpose of an investment is not to gamble recklessly, but to make an informed decision as to where it will actually EARN money? The real winner is the Treasury, which itself invests the money and pays out without regard to interest on the Principal.
And yes, I am aware that a relatively small minority have won big prizes. Even more have won bigger prizes on the Lottery, the horses, dogs, Bingo, whatever. So I guess the answer is that we all do what we like with our money, but have our own opinions as to the value of our actions.
I am not bitter about the £7, I just wish that I had put it into a P.O. account. Now I think that it is such a small amount, to withdraw it would probably be foolish.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

self evidently premium bonds are NOT an investment
you simply forego interest on the money saved and gamble with that
you can freely choose to save the money in a interest bearnig savings a/c or buy shares or gamble on whatever you like
what's the problem?0 -

How come thisismoney.co.uk can publish this info before NSI?..a bunch of lazys at NSI!0 -
I've had £40 in premium bonds for about 20 years. Never won anything. According to the PB calculator, my chances of winning - ever - are zero.
However, it's such a low amount that I will just keep them in there anyway and hope I strike the million some day
It does seem, though, that 99% of the bigger prizes are won by people with at least £10,000 'invested' in PBs.0 -

3 of us in our family of 5 hold only 100 each. 5 years. and won 100, 25 and 25. So smaller holders win just fine, thanks ;-)
They are gambling and I really don't see why anyone would hold 30K personally.0 -

I suspect they may be public sector workers with good pensions. That don't have to work too hard lol.:D
And before anyone burns down the house because they are PS workers with no sense of humour, this was joke.0
