I used to win £50 almost every month. Since the £25 came in, £25 every month but no £50s - funny that :p

I love the £5 bond that won £1000 this month, his/her total bonds ate £127 or something and it was brought in 1957, assuming you had to be 18 that makes him/her over 70.

He is probably dead to be honest and the bonds are well lost, but hey, I like that win.

The lucky winner may not even be in their 70s, you don't have to be 18 to hold premium bonds as adults can buy them for children.

In fact it was very common for grandparents and other close relatives to buy premium bonds for babies throughout the 1950s/60s/70s. My Mum, partner and myself all have premium bonds dating back to when we were babies.

And guess what? Nothing for us again this month.
But we've still had a far better return this year than we would have done in a savings account.
