IMHO taking in to account your winnings you seem to have done quite well with your bonds, certainly a hell of a lot better than I have, given your luck I would have left them in!
But even though he had a couple of wins, he'd have "won" more in interest had he put it into a fixed-rate savings bond back in Jan 2008.

I've been building up my investment (currently £3,000) from monthyl direct debits of £100. NO WIN EVER!! have cancelled the direct debit and cant bring myself to pull out the £3k ....just incase my win is around the corner.
Mortgage is very low, and take home a decent income so happy to leave this amount in Premium Bonds.
  • Saw something today that October draw interest rates go up from (think) 1% to 1.5%.

*sigh* Those big wins are getting more and more elusive round my numbers *sigh*

Oh well - might get a little win in a couple of days ;)

Nowt for me again - do you think Ernie knows which are my numbers and thinks I already have enough money *sigh*
Mags, I get it too, when I think Gordo has browsed the forums, read what I've posted about him, then told ERNIE to withhold my numbers from the draws. Good luck for October: higher winners are online and I'm not among them.

I can't understand the appeal of Premium Bonds at all. They are not an investment. They are a game, and a pretty poor one at that.

The whole Ernie nonsense .. it feels like an England pictured in Brief Encounter.

But that is exactly want some people treat them as - a game. I do!
