    A disappointing £50 again this month :(
  • I've had £100 for the last 5 years and I've won jack ****.

You may have guessed that I'm in no way bitter about all you lucky people scooping some prizes ;-)

Obviously with less money I have less of an opportunity to win; however has anyone been in a situation similar to my own whereby they hold a small value for a reasonable amount of time; who then decided to remove the money, reapply and then found they won something within a fairly short amount of time.

I have read through the official text indicating that actions such as this makes no difference; however I was wondering whether there was any anecdotal evidence that would suggest the effort would be worthwhile?

  • nothing this month, though the year to date has yielded 6.8% on less than 6k of holdings....

Statistically you have the same chance with each £1 as anybody else....

I clicked thanks instead of reply!

If anything by cashing in and re-buying you may well stand a worst chance, because you'll be out of the draw for at least a month.

£100 holding will win rarely, check the PB Calculator on the main part of this site.
According to this you have nearly an 80% chance of winning nothing over 5 years with £100, so you are well on the odds by winning nothing so far!

"Newer" bond numbers come up more frequently, because there are millions of people that have brought bonds "recently" compared with less 30-40 years ago and before.
