JonbVN I was contrasting the effects of using my interest from a savings account to buy lottery tickets or scratch cards as suggested by ST8, with using the interest to buy Premium Bonds. The premium bond option means you get to keep the interest you earned if you don't win your money is still there. Whereas with lottery tickets ..................!

And .............I still don't care - but thanks anyway!

Sorry but what you have described is completely different to the original premise.....

What you are suggesting is possibly worth a separate thread. What do you think?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

"Dan29 I am not saying I am not potentially losing money - I simply don't care. I have £3,500 in premium bonds (I think) and I am just as likely to be a big winner as the people with £30,000 or £300. Please don't tell me the range of possibilities on that. The day I don't want to do that anymore or I need it for something else I will cash it in. In the meantime who knows what might happen. Live a little dangerously!!"

How do you work out your just as likely to be a big winner as those with a small holding or the max 30k holding.

your much more likely to be a winner over a person holding £300

and your much less likely to be a winner than myself or anyone else holding 30k

or have i missed something here?

"trademark the thing you are missing is the fun of it."

fun or not i stand a far far better chance of winning than you, and you stand a far better chance of winning than a £300 holder.

just because its fun for you doesnt mean your holding matches mine ?

i havnt invested in pb's for fun, ive invested in them as im fully invested in isa's and see my 30k as an opportunity to further increase my income.
