My son recently got £50 on a £100 holding he's had since Nov 2005.
I was going to take another £50 from his savings and put that £100 into more bonds but after using the calculator I reckon he has been VERY lucky to win £50 on a £100 holding.

    nrsql ...

dont get your post at all .....

    and

numbers being missed from the draw ???????????

that cant happen with premium bonds ......

pb,s are just another string to your bow ........ ive all sorts of investments its all about "you win some you lose some"

you wouldnt put all of your money in pb,s ... unless you are pretty stupid i feel

whilst everyone wows at m3 sussex and his 10k win , as good as it was for him , i know investors who make that and lose that amount it in a couple of minutes on the markets.

ill be honest here ... if i won 10k on pb,s whilst id be mildly pleased id also be pretty disappointed as id know that if my number had come out just slightly earlier i may have won 1 million.

My £10K bond was number 332 drawn that month so percentage wise, pretty close. You are correct in as much that I was pleased and disappointed at the same time. £10K didn't make much difference to me (although it will help with the CGT charge in January), but a million would!!

    m3 ... i know ... so close to that big win ....

i feel for you ..... your not very lucky are you .... lol.

maybe we sould have a little competition .... see who wins the most in 2008 ... from 2008 post :

    your win

    holding

    total for 2008 ......

we could have a league table

any ideas for the winner .... i say he or she gets to be called king / queen "*****"

ie if you win m3 king m3_sussex ... and must be addressed as such for the whole of 2009 until we have a new winner. ... lol

any other ideas for the winner
  • I could say that I'd won a million every month. Would that make me king or just, as I suspect, a saddo?

Its nice to see some of you have had, and continue to have, some success. I, however, have not won a single penny since investing 2100 in February this year. Whilst I appreciate its not a great deal invested, it would have been nice to see even a 'small' amount won.

Unsure what to do with it now, I've become somewhat disillusioned with it all. Whoever suggested that the 'more you have, the more chance you have of winning' should really be... well lets say
