the interesting thing with this thread now is not who is posting cos they are all sluvenly slobs alike but in fact who is not now posting.............they are the people we should worship and adore - they have no fault - they should be revered:j :j
Errrm... NO! I just couldn't stop laughing for long enough to touch the right keys on the keyboard to make a coherent message!
I too am most of the above at some time or other......Not the big piles of ironing, as there is only minimal that gets ironed."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

....er, no....those not posting are just speechless with relief they don't have to pretend anymore they are actually on top of the housework (except when they're expecting visitors.....which is to be discouraged at all times
) This thread has made me feel SOOOO much better

I have 2 bags of "Soup & Broth Mix"which I've been meaning to try for ages. Ages being they were best before November 2006.
I also intend to make all my sauces from scratch but BOGOF jars of Sharwoods Hoi Sin sauce keep leaping into my trolley.
Very boringly my fruit bowl contains nothing but fruit. My microwave on the other hand is unplugged to prevent anyone attempting to use it. It has one of those doors that you can't see through and is crammed full of carp.
The enormous cupboard under the stairs is shelved floor to ceiling, it is accessed by a normal door and is of the walk in variety. I used to be able to vacuum it. Then I discovered that Tesco double up clubcard vouchers on wine, deliver for free when you buy £100 worth and give you more points for next time round. I now have stockpiled somewhere in the region of 60 bottles of plonk. The dinner service the MIL gave us a a wedding gift which has never left its individual boxes in case I break it, guaranteed as its limited edition bone china something or other is also precariously balanced in there. Anyhow I digress. In order to obtain alcohol one simply needs to open the door (about 3 inches) shove in an arm and a leg to restrain the items which are determined to escape should daylight creep in (including 2 ironing boards which unfold at will), avoid clonking ones head on the many many objects dangling from anything which looks vaguely like it may be used to dangle things from and retrieve bottle from wine rack. Easier said than done. Its usually just easier to wait for the next lot of Mr. Ts vouchers, order more and stash the boxes behind one of the 4 sofas. Vacuum lives in a central location. That being the centre of the room vaguely referred to as an office but masquerading as play room and laundry drying area.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
My hoover is still on the landing waiting for me to hoover the bedroom (I confess..it's been there all week!)
Sink in the utility room is M*NG*NG since I put the dead flowers vase water down it...can't be bothered to clean it...shut the door instead.
Ironing?? PAH!! It's back in the top cupboard where it belongs..took me a bit of effort to squeeze it all in tho, then slam the door! (brownie point for the effort I think...)
Opened a few tins today for a cheats dinner a la Delia when I have a fridge HEAVING full of fresh food (what happened to the s & k puds I was going to make from scratch??)
Cat in bad mood with me 'cos I ate his chicken wings (trying to get him to eat cheaper fresher food..but failing fast as I keep eating it instead.. sigh...)
Kitchen floor a mess...
Shoes all over the place except where they should be ...sigh...
Last but not least...just stuffed meself with a big and I do mean BIG bowl of tinned sugary peaches (left over from a xmas hamper from yonks ago) with lashings of full cream greek yoghurt and loads of squeezy honey...hhhmmmmmmm...well....surely, a BIG brownie point for the fact it was yoghurt??
Will do better tomorrow...maybe...I blame the fact it's the first real sunny day we've had in ages..0 -
Oh I forgot...my no. 2 fruit bowl has in it, as I type:
13 beer bottles caps...was saving for a freebie t-shirt..but offer ran out at xmas..(oh well!! they look pretty anyway..!)
Several hair bungees left by my Grandaughter who was here last months ago
A plastic harp-type toothpick/fosser..used
see above item..unused
Several bunches of keys..unidentified
A weird plastic toy that I can't even begin to identify (don't kids play with some weird stuff these days??)
Various receipts from Tescos, costco and Ikea for some reason...
Bottle opener
Knife (wondered where that got to)
3 M&M's, all blue
One half chewed bit of chewing gum, unidentifiable brand.
Several coasters in various states of disrepair
A light bulb.. (Brownie point..it's a low energy one!! )
A layer of dust
A dead fly...and....
Several pips from dried dates...now, do they count as fruit???0 -

Dishes need to be done

and there i was thinking that for the last 10 years or so i have lived in the slobbiest house in the street...turns out i am normal after all :j i thought all you guys were perfect as well...how wrong was i?:D i feel so much better now knowing im not the only one with a "black hole" cupboard with the doors wedged closed and delicately tip toe past it daily for fear of an avalanche. i too have a ironing mountain that has sat there all month
in my defence though i do have a very big rottweiler who goes mental if he catches sight of the iron or the ironing board and does his best to kill them at any opportunity  so the ironing doesnt get done too often as i can`t stand the ironing board being dragged around the kitchen by its legs by an angry dog  :rotfl: my patio has now merged into my garden as the dog brings the garden into the house on his paws, the patio is so covered by dirt you cant even see the stone slabs anymore
i cant honestly remember the last time i cleaned my bathroom properly, the toilet gets a quick swish with the bog brush and some of ds`s shower gel and i haven`t cleaned an oven for about 5 years, i only got my new cooker last year so its still looking okayish
has been funny reading all of your admissions of filtha lived in house is a happy house thats my motto!
just to make you all feel better it has been taken a bit to the extreme by one of my neighbours 2 doors down though...both his kitchen window and living room windows have been smashed for years and damp all up the side of his house, a dumped car on the drive and i watched him let himself in to his front door the other day and it would only open just wide enough to let him squeeze through as there were piles of free newspapers/letters behind the door they were almost creeping up the walls it was so bad  he has never cut his grass ever in the 8 years i have been here the other neighbours do it cos it gets so bad...god only knows what the rest of his 2 bed house is like and he is a fit and able 35 ish something man :eek:proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -

I moved from Aberdeen to Suffolk (then Suffolk again) to Gloucestershire in the space of 22 months and have another move looming later in the year. Anyway - I haven't seen the majority of my belongings in those two years because they're still boxed up - in fact, we've a whole room chock full of boxes - and it's a large room at that.
It's been an eye opener though, all that 'stuff' and I've hardly missed any of itI forgotten what's in the boxes now
It's going to be like Christmas when I've room to unpack
I'm definitely scaling down when I unpack, I reckon I could host a boot fair on my own :rotfl:

I bought my flat 8 years ago and I still have two boxes of books and a box of framed prints/photos in my attic that haven't been unpackedI'm using the excuse that I have nowhere to put them in my little flat, but I might have space one day if I marry a rich man and can then buy a house
