Great thread :D Reading through it has been extremely effective at putting off doing any housework ;)

Actually, I have made huge inroads into sorting my hovel out this weekend...

I have started paying my daughter to come round and clean for 2 hours a week! :T

Her first comment was 'Mum, haven't you hoovered since I came round and cleaned my car out?'

Busted! The attachment she used was still on the vacuum cleaner :o

She cleaned her car out 2 weeks ago.

    And I have a dog and 2 cats :o:o:o

Dont just catch it - hang around.
  • I've been off work doing some decorating/spring cleaning and had hoped to get everything perfect before going back to work tomorrow. Ha ha ha ha ha - no chance! :p

I haven't ironed and rehung my curtains. All my CDs are in piles on the floor because I haven't put them back on the newly painted shelves. My stereo system is on the bedroom floor because I haven't put it back in the living room yet. All the paint tins are on the floor. The paint brushes are still in a jar and the rollers are on the balcony getting rinsed by the rain :o. I haven't changed my bed linen or cleaned the bathroom. There's a pile of dry cleaning and a bag of clothes for charity which I forgot to take yesterday. There's a few odds and sods in a box that I didn't take to the tip. The laundry basket is full. All my paperwork is still on the table, under a dustsheet. And I never got round to painting the bathroom.......

I had envisaged sitting down tonight with a lovely home cooked meal in my sparkly redecorated home but by 6pm I thought 'sod it', abandoned everything and went to my boyfriends and had takeaway curry

Back to work in the morning, roll on next weekend................ ;)
  • I forgot to add my car. :o It's been a bit dodgy and I need to take it to a specialist garage a bit out of my way - I've been meaning to do this since November. I also haven't used it much this winter and when I wanted to go out three weeks ago, the battery was dead so I need to call the RAC........... which I still haven't got round to. I've had to make other arrangements (lifts/taxis/bus) or not bother going places because I can't quite get myself together to sort it out, despite the fact that it's inconvenienced me. :o

Still, at least no one can steal it if it's broken..... :D

    I loooathe cleaning.

My mum comes down every other day and the first thing she says is "Your house is a state" "Why don't you clean more" - Well mother, I Can't be arrrrrrzed :)
She ends up doing most of it! The way she preaches you would think I grew up in a house that was immaculate....far from it, but since she got a bigger house in a nicer area she has became OCD on crumbs.

    I need too...

Wash the surfaces (Which I will do as that damn cat has been jumping up again to eat my parsley plant)

Clean the toilet......been about 2weeks, I think a new lifeform is growing in my toilet pot.

Do the washing, the pile is reaching the work surfaces, it's that bad.

I really should Iron, but since I've lived in my flat for 2years and ironed once, I think the chances of that happening are slim to none, I don't even own a proper iron, I have a "travel iron"

Clean out cat litter before it starts carping on OH's tshirt again (that was funny though!)

Tidy away DD's toys, I tripped several times trying to wade through the mess she had made in her bedroom, and it's her birthday in 2weeks so really need to get my butt in gear with that.

Mountain of dishes, a pot that I don't wanna do because I mashed potatoes in it a week ago and never emptied it or left it to soak and I have no brillo pads left as DD threw them down toilet.

Haven't washed my curtains or netting since I moved in

Also have never dusted (oh does that if he notices dust on his beloved tv)

Really need to was cushion covers as they also have never been cleaned and are bogging.

Clear the 2seater sofa as all clean clothes out of tumble or airer gets thrown onto there, I do attempt to clear it by putting it into piles but it's normally all fell down again within 5minutes - why bother.

Tomorrow I intend to do the dishes, the surfaces and at least one load of washing....before running off to the park with DD and forgetting about the cesspit :D

Oh yeah forgot that I need to hoover as I can see at least 17 raisins all spread across the room and I'm hoping the one beside the door isn't a beetle!

My fruit bowl contains - 3 ill looking avacados, 2 bruised apples, a banana that looks fine, some half chewed breadsticks, a blue and red crayon, a plastic boat, a mr tumble fake bow tie that DD got with some cbeebies mag, my free samples of tropical lenor, and what I hope is a pea and not a bogey.

there is a load in the WM that has been there since yesterday AM - it will need doing again really as will be really smelly
took dgs3 to maccyd for lunch as I couldn't be ***sed to do something nutritious (the only one of my five a day today was the gherkin in my big mac - does that count)
there is a huuuuuuuge box of stuff on the sofa that needs sorting and taking to other rooms
i tipped food waste into the bin cos it was to cold to trek .... ooooh at least 1.5 metres to the compost bin

all the above could sort of be excused if it wasnt for the fact that in the last week I have spent at least 50 hours cross stitching and am now sitting watching a mighty boosh night instead of getting on with it

My washing is still in the WM after more than 24 hours.

I sat knitting for a lot of yesterday.,

place looks like a pig sty

I'm going out this morning, so will have to wait!

He couldn't breathe enough to phone back til this morning.

I gave my full bottle to my mother about 6 months ago (probably longer!!) as she had run out and couldn't find any to buy... I had about a tablespoon full left.. it is still in the bottle and she has used about another 2000 bottles since then.. but she has 5 dogs...
