    ok my confessions.
My kids have eaten chocolate for breakfast for the last two days - well it is Easter.
you can't see my bedroom floor for clothes(but i do know which piles are dirty and which are clean and need putting away)
I took loads of clothes out of the loft to put on ebay which are now lying on the floor in my bedroom - they're the ones by the empty drawers.
Dishwasher needs emptying and re-filling with things from lunch time yesterday.
Empty easter egg cartons on every surface in living room.
Haven't done any washing other than essentials for ages as TD is broke - probably from overuse!
There's a strange smell in my washing cupboard which i can't be bothered investigating because it would mean emptying five binbags full of washing.
Haven't cleaned dog poop off lawn for a week and dog hasn't been brushed for three days (a long time for my dog)- have had to have dp walk her after dark so no one sees!

On the bright side i came on today to find a new bread recipe for bm and whilst i've spent the last hour reading this thread my ds had had yet more chocolate and emptied his toy box. :T

This thred has really made me smile :)

I have a top tip for you.

If you have to leave your house for a couple of weeks like i have then ask your Mum to go up and collect your post.

    I did that.

Last night she told me that she has done my full to the brim basket of ironing.

I didn't dare tell her that some of that ironing had been there for possibly up to 2 years :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm gonna have a whole lot of new clothes when I get home cos i reckon that some of the stuff in the bottom of the basket i haven't seen since the first time I wore it:D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

I LOVE this thread,I have been catching up on all the new posts since yesterday and I have just spit toast all over the keyboard as I snorted with laughter :D This will add to the collection of biscuit and crisp crumbs which are already embedded in there.

The sun is shining on my filthy windows which haven't been cleaned for months, but I am still not motivated to clean them.Besides,it is too cold to go outside and it will probably rain later anyway,so what's the point.

Happy Easter Monday to my fellow slovens, you have really brightened up my weekend with your posts :A

thankyou for this thread it has inspired me into action - and made me realise i am not the most slovenly person by any streach of the imagination. done the kitchen and 3rd load of washing in the machine. just having a coffee break now (i've earned it) frount room next - clutter collecting nicely in the dining room. i had a lovely bunch of flowers for easter - instead of choc egg - they will look so much nicer when they are not surrounded by the clutter that is my frount room!!
on the subject off washing and ironing how many clothes do you lot have if i left is as long as some of you lot i would have ran out a long time ago!! i only have not done the washing and ironing over the weekend as my mum is convinced that i will wash someone out of the family between good friday and easter sunday - she rings me up throughout the day trying to see if she can hear the machine in the background and then i am likely to get accused of planning murder!! not worth the hassel!! i will have have the dining room till 2morrow as there is so much washing hanging about i cant get to it to clean. it keeps raining and i am not spending all my time running in and out with washing - too much like hard work - her come the excuses again!!
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
  • Oh curse this pursuit of cleanliness and tidyness -Ive had to clean my cutlery tray in the drawer because itlooked GRUBBY! This tiying up is seriously hampering my hot crossbun eating

Lol...things must be bad when your family offer to take your child to stay with them for a few days so 'you can get on'. :rotfl:

See...I beat you all hands down. :D

My 8 year old is off to her auntie's house to stay until Saturday so I can bash on with the DIY I have to do (and keep putting off) and try to get the house at least liveable again. There's also the wee matter of no-one having any clean clothes I have to attend to.

However, daughter phoned us at 10pm last night sobbing her heart out as she was homesick. (She'd been away 6 hours. )

Naturally I was unable to sleep for worrying about her being upset and as I am tired today as a result, there will be little work getting done yet again. This time though, I refuse to beat myself up about it and will instead relax on the couch with a dvd and the last of the easter egg. ;)

    Tomorrow is another day.
