MrsE - not a lady mechanic - but spend alot of time in the workshop, language is colourful!

I run the office, when they don't interfere too much! But as the bosses are out there alot of the time, I'm back and forth. I've discovered the joys of Damart since working there..........

    Suki !!

Well, my personal shopper has brought me my shampoo etc. She's been looking a bit into the allantoin stuff too. If could get it to put in bath and bathe face with so the skin has that barrier , it could be ideal to protect our skin from all the elements - needs further research.

I'm going to shampoo later - but time has flown and I really ought to make an effort to be domesticated and cook for one thing!

No doubt will be back later, mainly cos as I'm so spotty at mo, I don't have nor want a life - can't go out like this!

Funny thing is - when I have my roots/hair bleached - my scalp settles down!! Its when they need doing that my scalp gets itchy.

That is because of the peroxide in the hair colour (bleach will just be a stronger version). Seriously, a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide is one of the remedies for fungal infections the 3% strength is sold for first aid. 3% is equivalent to 10 volume and most hair colourings use 20 volume which would be 6%.

I think that is what I had poured over my poor smashed in head... it was very cold but soothing at the same time, the doctor apologised, but it was lovely!

Now you know why I am happily divorced! :rotfl:

But Im guessing its not a good idea to be covering the scalp with hydrogen peroxide just to keep the fungus at bay? I mean I know bleach is fine for mould in the bathrooms but Im kind of guessing even 3% will do nasty things to my roots - like turn them orange or make my hair break off?
  • I also get very itchy inside my ears?? And at times the itching on my scalp feels like there is something lightly crawling over it!!! I've read that tea tree oil is a good treatment for it as it is an anti fungal has anyone tried it and I can I put tea tree directly in my ears?

When my scalp is at its most itchy is when everywhere else becomes itchy and my skin on my face is at its worst?

This is because the Seb Derm starts on the scalp and works its way down, working its way into the ears, across cheeks, in eyebrows , down nose and on chin. This is why you need to keep the scalp as clear as possible and what works for me is using head and shoulders daily and during a flare up using Nizoral on the scalp and face for a day or two.

I did try tea tree - the Australian body care range which is meant to be safe for skin - but found it too strong and drying for me. However ymmv and it may do the trick for you. It is sold on QVC as a cure all and the anti fungal properties are really pushed

Tea tree is too strong for me too and dries me out.

Now then - can really really recommend the Nizoral!! I'm itch free - well very nearly, my face feels better and I've even put a little foundation on.

Thank you thank you thank you

Gotta go now - family over today - and we may make a snowman :D

Honest, it may seem silly that you have sore itchy flaky ears and face and Im advising shampoo but it really does work. The fungus develops on the scalp and every time you move your head the spores dislodge settling on your sticky out bits such as ears and cheeks. The Nizoral is expensive so I dont use it twice weekly every week, i save it for major flare ups and just use a dandruff shampoo for all other washes. Mind you if you do get free prescriptions you can get it from your GP.
My last Gp was a gem and always prescribed two bottles so even though I paid for scripts I saved a fortune

I'm just having a break during cooking meal - I've had the foundation on now for a few hours - and don't feel like clawing it off!

This Nizoral is brilliant and the instructions you gave Suki, bang on!

Keep motivated - go out and get it tomorrow - if boots are open x
