We've been posting on Essex girls thread too about this Allantoin - I've got a link on there re a supplier of it.
Not as good as it sounds in sense of still not know quite how to use it - shame can't merge the two threads.....!!
But a great place to shop for natural bits and bobs!
Wish I didn't have to work full time - after Monday, back to the old grind and less time to come on here and research what is really important!! :rotfl:Genie

Some people just have the sort of skin flora that allows yeast to flourish and it is the yeast that causes the redness and inflammation.
More about it here: http://dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/seborrhoeic-dermatitis.html
i went on the candida diet - very strictly - about, must 9 years ago now. For first time in years I had a completely flat stomach, skin wasn't bad either but it was extremely hard to do.
Complete ban on sugar, sugar substitutes, natural sugar ie fruit for first few months, no yeast or yeast products, no funghi ie mushrooms, nothing that ferments - ie cheese or cheese products, wine, alcohol. The list seemed endless. Sugar was the hardest to cut out in the sense, it is in EVERYTHING!! And yeast and yeast products are in alot too.
Fortunately, I quite like rice cakes.............
But its not a diet I fancy going back onToo complicated for my hectic lifestyle - i could do with a 'wife' !! :rotfl:
Also my work environment is not ideal - a garage, although in the office - am in the workshop a hell of alot - and all those fumes and dust and yukky stuff that is floating around. Which is why a 'barrier' containing allantoin sounds ideal.Genie

I think the idea of the diflucan is that you can eat normal food and the diflucan keeps the numbers of yeast in check so that there is never enough of them to cause a problem. That is all the Nizoral shampoo is doing, keeping the numbers of yeast low.0

My personal shopper should be purchasing me a bottle of Nizoral as we speak! Sisters are great, aren't they!
I've no make up on - none yesterday either - and my face still itches!
Your link took me too some horrid but familiar pictures! I'm wondering if there is a shower and bath stuff too. I suppose I could wash my hair in the bath....Genie

Jeanie, I use the shampoo to treat stubborn flare ups. I shampoo it in my hair, across ears, eyebrows, nose, cheeks and chin and leave for 10 mins before rinsing off. During a stubborn flare up I might have to do this for three days in a row, then Im fine for weeks/months - as long as I always use a dandruff shampoo (head and shoulders).
The idea is that the Seb Derm starts in the scalp line and works its way down onto the the areas I mentioned as they are the bits that stick out and catch the wee microbes as they are disturbed when you touch your hair. Keep the scalp clear and the face will stay clear (hopefully)
There is a Yahoo group which advocates the use of organic apple cider vinegar as a wash. The fellow who runs it is a bit of a control freak tbh and wont give you the recipe or instructions unless you stick to his rules. However there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that it does work so you may wish to look into that further?0 -
Thank you Suki.
I'll be shampooing my hair in.... roughly an hour. Trouble is - my roots need doing and was going to do that later too.... but better leave it, what do you advise??
Or are you a natural blonde or dark....Genie

And of course having to use Head and Shoulders colour doesn't really last here( Funny enough though colouring really doesn't cause me any problems - but your mileage may vary. Id leave it for a day or two, see how you get on with the shampoo first. don't forget this isn't going to be an overnight cure although if it is Seb Derm the itching should lessen and the redness will ease, certainly after two treatments any scaling should go.
I would just go real easy with chemicals right now, esp as you are going to be changing skincare as well. Too much change in one go can stress your skin out and you may get worse for a while. Id go with the shampoo, and carry on with the make up you were using, then introduce the liz earle, see how you go for a week or two, then perhaps look at changing to a mineral make up again. Also keep an eye/ear on whats happening in your life - like I said outside stresses can cause havoc, as well as the heater in the car and air conditioned/central heated offices0 -
Funny thing is - when I have my roots/hair bleached - my scalp settles down!! Its when they need doing that my scalp gets itchy.
Am thinking, as hair looks a mess - may do roots first, then perhaps just shampoo my face.... and then a few shampoo's on, introduce shampoo to my hair..... and when I get the Liz Earle, I'll look like Elle McPhersonGenie

My scalp settles as well as it happens
Hold off on the dye for two days perhaps? Get two scalp treatments in first? Nizoral will fade the colour a lot quicker which wouldnt be very money saving. Dont forget. work it down onto your face (i just move hands from scalp to face using whats already on my hands) and leave a good 5/10 mins. Will tingle and itch but try to hold out,
If only would I look like Elle :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I know Im never ever ever even in my wildest dreams ever going to turn heads BUT I have to say now in my mid 40's my skin even with all its problems has never looked better. Even hubby looked at me the other day and said I was looking younger then ever and I put it down to as natural and as gentle skin care and cosmetics as I can find. May cost slightly more for the initial outlay but they last for ages. Ive just finished my Liz earle moisturiser that I bought as a twin pack and my 3 pack of cleanse and polish was bought before Christmas and Im only just starting the 3rd bottle. And mineral make up - well I dont think you ever use a jar up - I have a BE blusher thats 3 years old and still 3/4 full
Now hunting for a good shampoo, one that will treat the scalp without stripping all the colour and keep my hair looking sleek and shiny - not really asking much at all really0
