    Thanks for that information Fern

Seb derm usually does follow in families through the males, my dad had it and now my nephew does. My elser sister has it now in her 40s but I was plagued with it from birth I think (cradle cap onwards)

I shall look at the Oilatum next time Im out shopping. Right now Im sat here with a face covered in nizarol. Im recovering from surgery and my skin has gone manic atm. I found a forum last night where the advise was to wash the face in Nizarol every day or every other day for two weeks to really blast the fungus out - Im trying it as Im looking like I have severe sunburn today :(

Sorry to hear you're in such a distressed state, it can be a bit of a cycle of stress/flakes/stress at times which doesn't help. Hope this weekend shows an improvement for you.

When I first tried Oilatum my face was particularly sore so I used the shampoo as a foaming face wash. The best bit was that it didn't sting except on the REALLY broken skin and that only happened the first time as it started to work right away. I love the way Oilatum doesn't dry the skin so it feels soothed.

    Best of luck

    Thanks Fern for the info.

It will be my back up - my skin is not so lumpy, its still red but smoother since using the nizoral.

Now, as I have ezcema/seb derm patches itching everywhere - down to my ankles, has anyone had this and say used Nizoral on these other places??

Suki - I'm thinking about the daily Nizoral face wash!

Also, sorry to hear you've had surgery and trust you are ok and on the mend:lovethoug

Do you all use the Nizoral in the shower? It would explain then it clearing away the itch from scalp down. I've not got a shower - only a bath. :o

Try the Oilatum bath stuff, hope I don't sound evangelical or obsessed but the shampoo really works so, although I haven't had need of bath stuff I would if I had itchy patches on my body. This is a link to the website for more info.

    I most certainly will.

I'm just reading the labels on the Liz Earle stuff that came the other day - and am about to cleanse my poor red face - I've had a stressful week - today has been particularly 'stressy'. I can feel a couple (maybe three:eek: ) new spots coming up on my face which was getting smoother! Blast it.

Gonna have a go with the cleanse and polish and tonic and moisturiser. It will probably feel nice but think I may still look scary tho.

On a more holistic note, have you tried yoga relaxation techniques to help with the stress? A few years ago I went to a few classes and the ability to relax body and mind has stayed with me.

It involves breathing deeply and smoothly and concentrating on the body (relieving the mind for a bit). Lie down comfortably and when you are happily breathing deeply decide not to sleep until you have finished. Then concentrate on trying to relax your feet and progress up your body from there. With a little practise every night you can get very deeply relaxed in less and less time.

I have found that I can call on this in everyday situations by having a short time out and just starting the breathing. Your body does the rest as it likes it. 5 mins at this level can make all the difference. Power snoozing in this way can refresh the mind and rest the body suprisingly well.

    Jeannie

My husband gets a small area on his hands thats itchy & red & a bit flakey.

I get him that Oilatum cream.

He says its the ONLY product ever to have worked, so it might be worth trying their body products, its the ones they sell with urea (sp?) in them thats the active ingrediant.

He reckons its the diesel that causes it, I don't know.

So Nizrole for the hair & that for the body, Liz for the face & Cindy Crawford move over:D

Oh Fern that does sound nice...

I've just managed to summon up the enthusiasm and energy to stagger to the bathroom and do my Liz Earle bit - stopping occasionally to put reading glasses on to read the labels to see what to do next! :rotfl:

I get up really early each morning to get off to work etc. I get home, sling coat off, cook dinner, eat it, clear up - let myself have half hour on here then go to bed..... I'm already planning to get up five mins or so earlier each morning now to fit in the Liz Earle cleansing routine! If I get up any earlier, I'll meet myself going to bed!! :D So I'm not sure when I'll get time :o

Weekends spent doing chores and ok, to be honest, coming on here and thats my chill out time. During working hours, the environment I'm in will not in a million years give me any peace and quiet!!!

But I know where you are coming from and I have done the feet upwards relaxing technique in bed - but I never get very far up as I'm so tired I'm asleep before I get to my shoulders!!

    I get up at 6am :-(

Hubby gets up at silly o'clock, sometimes as early as 4am, sometimes a little bit later :-(
  • Hi Jeannie

I use Liz Earle but I only use it at night then in the morning I just splash with water and then moisturise again if it needs it. I don't think there is any need to do it morning and night but its up to you.

I took the Nizorelle back no problem and exchanged it for the Nizoral from behind the counter and it was slightly more expensive but thats fine. I have tried it today and its probably too early to tell if it works but my hair feels really soft :D
