I got charged on my premier account - the one I use for ebay - so I opened a personal account as well - but got charged on that as well. I don't have credit cards and as you have to use a different bank account for each PP account, I think it might be because my account hasn't been 'backed' by a bank account yet.

I could open another bank account, I suppose. But what with?

I don't think its about you or your bank accs, Lou, I think paypal charge you if someone pays into your account by credit card, which is what writers share have done. Shame for all of us, eating into our fees.

No, reading this thread there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why people get charged paypal fees.

Some people with personal accounts get charged while others don't. It's the same with other accounts too.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with what type of account you have. The only explanation that comes close to explaining it is they pay us before they have been paid themselves. So they pay some of us with cash they have in their paypal account and when that runs out they have to use a credit card to pay the rest of us.

When they use the CC some of us get charged and some don't.

If you read through the thread you will see that for every person with a personal account that gets charged there is someone with a personal account that doesn't. And it's the same with all types of accounts, for everyone that gets charged there is some with the same type of account who didn't get charged.

Oh, that whole might be charged/might not be charged thing is annoying - i have 2 paypal accounts and use one for CC payments in, and one for existing balance in payments... (the first has fees the second doesnt ;) )

well, i guess i'll deal with that when the time comes.
