Chips, no wonder you're mad. ALL 20 rejected??? This is downright odd - how come people are now having all comments either accepted or rejected? Before the site went down, I had every comment accepted, 20+.

I'm not impressed by Mr Roberts - he should be working his butt off to sort out this mess.
  • Following on from my negative comments about this website I have now spoken to the matthew Roberts and it seems that his company has been overwhelmed by the reponse when they launched in March this year - mainly due to the original post by malteaser1988.

I must say I was actually quite impressed when speaking with Matthew. He tells me that there is a lot of work going on 'behind the scenes' to automate payments and to check submitted comments for plagiarism. In their first week of operation they had to process payments for 2,500 comments manually and Matthew freely admits this was quite some task to do manually.

Matthew was actually overseas when I called him on his mobile so I was quite impressed he was prepared to pay his roaming charges to speak to me!

Matthew has just called us during his holiday regarding his call with you.

I would like to be clear that although Matt's name is registered as the owner of the site, he is only there as he is one of the company directors.

He is in no way responsible or involved with the Writers:Share project.

We will be changing the WhoIs records today so that he doesn't keep finding himself getting involved. I would appreciate if you can keep his personal details confidential.

If you have any issues or questions, please contact us directly. You will find our email address on the site or I can PM you with my email.

    Thank you for your understanding.

What's he doing overseas!!! He should be in his shed paying me the money he promised I would be paid last friday!

I understand that it is not a one-man operation (as I originally thought) but is backed by a company (of which Matthew is a director) and, in all, 42 people are involved in the project. I am not quite sure of the company name as it was a bit difficult to hear on the phone.

Hello WS, I hope you will answer my above question.

I also hope you understand why people are so irate. We have had one delay after another, yet we have stuck with WS waiting for all to be resolved, only for some of us (including me) to have all remaining comments rejected.

Obviously you are not obliged to accept any comment, and I can appreciate that the site was overwhelmed by the response, but if my comments are going to be rejected for no apparent reason, it doesn't encourage me to contribute further.

I gave my personal assurance to Matthew Roberts that I would not publish his personal details.

I have had another 3 rejections - that's 8 rejections and no acceptances, and yet my stats say...

    Approved comments:3
    Rejected comments:1
    Awaiting moderation:0
    Amount due:£0.00

I submitted 11, so the stats don't tally at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like people are getting all rejections or all acceptances, has there been anyone who has had some of each? Seems almost like they're just picking people at random and accepting or rejecting in bulk.

I am so disillusioned. I have been really pro-writers share from the start. I wanted it to work, I suppose, so I have been waiting, patiently and encouraging others to do the same, giving the benefit of the doubt and generally wanting to believe that it was honest and genuine and would be up and running efficiently if we just waited. I like to think the best of people until I have reason to believe otherwise - well, I guess I now have reason. I'm gutted, it could really have been a good way of earning, but I guess now there is no point even bothering if my comments are going to be rejected - probably without being read. :(

  • Hi Everyone,

For clarification, let me cover off some rumours and doubts over the existence of W:S.

As you can see from this community, there is a large number of writers all keen to write. We need to be able to take that content, check for its originality and then pay.

All this needs to happen automatically.

Whilst this happens, we can appreciate that some writers will be left waiting for payment if the system develops a bug. And up to now, there has been lots of issues which we are working hard to resolve.

    Q: Will everyone be paid?
A: Yes! - Everyone who writes and meets the criteria (mentioned in a post before) will be paid. If not automatially at first, will be done so manually.

There is many comments that still need approval and payment, and our focus is to pay the majority automatically first.

    Q: Who is behind W:S?
A: We are a ecommerce agency in London who love original content, so this is why we created a site to do just that.

We are still amazed with the response from everyone here!

    Q: Who is Matt Roberts?
A: Matt Roberts is just a director at the agency and isn't involved with the W:S team who is creating the back end technology that makes all this happen.

Please PM or post your questions and I will spend the rest of today answering each individually.

Thanks everyone for their support up to now!

yep another rejection email here which i am not happy about. It was over 150 words long and certainly all my own words. I am currently a nursing student and copying work gets me thrown off the course! I am quite angry i mean it was only £1 but its still £1 im entitled to!
