If you could dig up that particular thread it would be great.

Do you have to pay to set up a website? Am desperate to set one up before July, but don't have the first idea how to register!

It all depends on what you want. If you just want a blog then there are ways to do it for free. If you want something more then you can get free web space, but these usually have silly address. If you want your own address then you have to pay for it. And if you want a big web site with lots of features you will probably have to pay for web space.

Thanks, I just dug up the thread, and promptly forgot what it is called!

It is obvious by the title tho.
  • There is 000webhosting which you can use for free, which is very good.

For domains, search for co.cc and google and you can get your free domain.

I use them both and they work excellent.

Will (fingers crossed), be setting up my own kennel for showing/breeding of a fairly rare breed of dog ( but not that rare!). However from personal searches I know there are not that many around the UK so if I could get in now, it would be a bonus for me!
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

While we are being off topic here, perhaps someone can answer a question I have been wondering about for a while, but didn't know where to post it :D

How can you tell which posts you have been thanks for, and who thanked you? - I am just curious.
Noobie (not so :D) trying to make loads a dosh - please bear with all my questions  Thanks :D

The only way I know of is to look at your post and it tells you underneath it. See your original post and click the Show Me link.

In that case you need to write down all the things you want the web site to do.

Do you want a simple one page advert for your kennel?

Do you want people to be able join your site and contribute to it?

Do you want to change it often, adding new information at regular intervals.

Do you want to put lots of pictures on the site?

The main thing is to decide what you want, then we can tell you what you need.

Thanks :) I knew about that, but I was just wondering if there was any other way?
