I have done a quick search on "re-use" to see if there was a re-use thread at all and I could not see anything obvious... I am always interested in giving items a second use... So QUESTION:
What innovative ways do you re-use things???
Hiya
We have several threads on recycling and so I've merged your question with one of the largest of them. Posts are listed in date order so you'll need to read this one from the beginning to catch up. Then your homework is to read a similar thread which I've linked below. After that there are all sorts of recycling tips to be found in the Miscellaneous section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of Old Style.

You OS ladies probably know this one. If you always have the same colour tights, when one leg is laddered cut it off about 2"below the body bit, then when you have two one-legged tights wear them both at once, turning one inside out if necessary to make a pair. Hope that makes sense, just make sure the colour matches otherwise you'll look really silly,eg one navy leg and one brown leg.0

You can make your own crotchless tights like this

plant seeds directly in used eggshells, when the seedkings are ready to be planted out, gently tap round the eggshell with a teaspoon, and plant out still in the shell. eggshell will break down and provide extra nutrient for the young plant.
