Unless your shouting no one would hear

Your looking for reasons to moan, and this wasnt bad service, this was the bank abiding by the law and policies

Some people really dont get the level of fraud and legislation relating to money withdrawals

Your lucky you didnt end up reported to the AML bodies or the cash being withheld due to suspicous behaviour

:eek: um.excuse me  were you there at the time with me? no....

Yes, request to go to a room. Don't stand there answering questions for half an hour blocking the queue....

    look hang onnnnnnnnn one second

all ive said is that i once withdrew a large cash amount, the bank is a very small branch of lloyds and yes the queue is not far from the kiosk at all, you CAN hear everything and the cashier was rude in her manner. but it was only the once and like all forms of retail/customer related jobs you DO get the odd bad experince and i am entitled to MOAN about it if i do chose thankyou,

as for reporting me and withholding my money .........i was polite and answered the questions clearly and produced relevant ID , you werent there at the time so you cant comment on MY behaviour!!!!!!!!!!

All of the questions are fine. Except "what are you going to do with the money?"

Regardless if other banks ask the question. The other ones are verifiable security questions. The last one adds nothing to security at all.

You should answer all of the questions and the banks should ask them but the final question is just intrusive and provides absolutely no security benefit.

I would refuse to answer this question, there is no legitimate requirement for me to do so and the answer has no bearing on whether I am the legitimate customer.

However I also refuse to answer security questions when the bank calls me. (They called me so they are the ones that need to prove their identity).

it maybe legislation, but "whats it for?" is not an acceptable way of asking me how i will spend MY money

Can you point me to the specific legislation as I'm not personally familiar with it ?

    mmmmmmm iamthe smartestmanalive....name says a lot perhaps:lipsrseal
and who are you to declare that:

"its a perfectly reasonable question set out by legislation". I also would like to know where this piece of legislation is found.

I notice the bank don't bother to ask me the same question when I make a deposit! I have asked many of my friends who live in various countries within the EU, and they ALL said it was OUTRAGEOUS to be asked what I wanted MY money for.
Not that it really makes much difference, but I am a 70 year old woman so unlikely to be a drugs dealer:rolleyes:
I have worked abroad most of my life travelling extensively, and have NEVER EVER been put through the interrogation I was put through today, and all for a poxy £2.500! Lord help me when I leave here for good, (can't come quick enough:p ) just WHAT information will I have to give then.
By the way, not all banks are like that at all, as yesterday I went to Lloyd's TSB and did a similar transaction with NO PROBLEMS at all.
