  • This number phoned me today (9th June 2011 @ 17.28) 08003896818 there was no answer I googled and found this blog..
Then I had another call from 0441616567957 @ 19.58 (the phone rang twice and went dead) I googled that number and found this useful information ..
If you ring 1477 (immediately after you receive it)...it will be registered as a malicious call

    BTW I'm with Talk-talk land-line and O2 Mobile :)

I received the same 0441 number today-if you read here http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/0441616567957 its TalkTalk, they use multiple call centres for surveys to annoy customers. Despite the customer having switched to being 'private' numerous times, after a few weeks your number can mysteriously get switched back to being 'local' to allow for such calls, but in the end it doesnt make a difference, theyll usually phone you regardless for no important reason. Its almost like getting junk mail via phone instead of email, lol. They are almost always calling from abroad (usually south africa and india). A good way to save the company large sums of money, no doubt.
  • I just got a call from this number and they claimed to be Santander and asked me to answer some security questions to try and steal my details. I told them to verify who they were but they kept pressing for security answers, so I hung up.

DON'T GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER

Numbers do get recycled but at the moment (July 2013), 08003896818 is definitely a company called Elavon - they provide card payment processing and have a connection with Santander bank.
  • Just had a couple of calls from this number. All previous threads correct regarding "listening Company but they now call themselves "Serco Global Services". Same 0208 number applies so if you want to reciprocate the contact as previously stated, go right ahead.:T

Used to work for these guys, Top guy was Neville Upton. Theyre an outsourcer, The client told us what frequency to call etc.

They do inbound and outbound and the staff are poorly paid so don't blame them half of them are doing it because there is no other work.
