I enjoy doing car boot sales with my 10 year old son! The money he makes from selling old toys and games seems to last for ages because he really thinks before spending it!

PS....Get a small pack of mini eggs and get the kids to make 'empty nests' out of rice krispies covered in chocolate then leave them out for the Easter bunny, on easter day the kids come down and find 3 or 4 eggs that have magically appeared from the easter bunny!
so simple but they love it!It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.

A few idas:
Buy 6m tax for both cars, then save up for 6m to buy 12m tax - gets you out of the "everything at once" cycle, and any work that is required for MOT is tons easier to afford without having to buy road tax
Check out Holiday Inn Expresses/Premier Travel Inn/Travelodges for deals for Dublin
Has OH paid for his weekend away? If not, how is he proposing to pay?
Re the kids: Look in the weekend papers for ideas for Easter Egg walks on Sunday or look here, depending where you live:

A couple of things
1) that person who 'outed you' and teased you is a complete idiot and has obviously missed the point of this website completely and the valuable role it plays- I hope that person is thoroughly ashamed of themselves. I wonder what sort of mess they are in?
2) You learnt loads of skills the first time around so you can do it again and it might be a little easier this time.
3) Are you actually better off than you were? You are still making what seems like huge payments so you must be paying it off
4) I appreciate you are in a really tight situation but did you try to change everything far, far too quickly and not give yourself a bit of time to adjust? - is your budget realistic you really need to allow yourself a small budget for treats to stop you going mad.
5) Good LuckMaking my money go further with MSE :j

Wow! Thank you for all the ideas, think the egg ones will do well! Makes me realise how much I miss the support I get from anyone when I am feeling a bit low. Sharing it made a difference in the past and I hope it wil again, I just feel that I'm letting so many people down and I want to get back on top of it all again!Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

Thank you. The person who "outed" me did it in a public place in front of friends and OH who did not know I posted here. I felt utterly ashamed and hurt by what they had done and how they felt it was ok to joke about my situation - we have not spoken since. They are not in a mess, as her OH inherited a lot of money and she owes nothing, basically ridiculed me, felt very very hurt. I had made the mistake of telling her about this site re Old Style Board etc and she obviously found her way onto here and found joy in my misfortune.
We better off than we were 12 months ago, but 12 months ago I didn't include my loans in my debt figure and I faced up to this a few months ago, which is when the figure snowballed and I think in reality sent me running for the hills.
I think the problem is I budgeted so tight in the early days that it was so difficult and then I ended up just spending too much in one big blow. Think I need to adjust my budget. It's also the fact that the cost of living has increased, particularly petrol, train fare, childcare, council tax, I have been so worried about the credit crunch and not being able to switch cards when the time comes.
I have just sat at work and cleared out my purse and put in a post it note the amount I owe - just a gentle reminder to me not to spend any more.
Thank you so so much for welcoming me back, it means a lot.Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 -
Welcome back you are not letting anyone down..you are here aren't you?..so all is not lost and you are paying the debt off.
Shame you had to change your name though. Will take ages to suss who you are now0 -
You are much stronger than the !!!!!! that 'outed' you
They sound like the kind of insecure idiot who is only happy when pushing others down to make themselves feel superior.

from someone else who has had peroids off the wagon....dont despair it'll be ok in the end. ideas for kids try your local library they often have free stuff going on for kids in the holidays and dvd's are very cheap to borrow. There's also lots of craft ideas on the internet stuff you can print off for them to do if the weather is awful which of course it will be being a bank holiday!0
