Morning all....

Off to get the sticky...brb!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19 march. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I thought that today's diary would be about 20 posts long by now! In the hopes that I am not cross posting with anyone else here's the starter.

It's one of those "another day, another dollar" days in SnowyOwlsVille. Nothing exciting to report in my little life.

Smokey, wishing you strength to get through the day.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Snowy

  • Morning Snowy and all who follow :hello:

Well today I have work (as usual) but I'm leaving early to go to London for a hospital visit to the specialist for my Dad. He didn't want me to come - but I've insisted he needs at least another pair of ears :D

Made some simnel muffins last night for a colleagues birthday today, they are scrummy.

Well I suppose I better get ready.

    Thinking of you Smoky

    (((((hugs))))) everyone
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Hugs to Smokey.

Katy had a very bad day yesterday so hubby & I were treated to a couple of hours hymn singing last night or to be more accurate 2 hours of one hymn sung repeatedly, she eventually went out, refusing to say when she was returning. When I got up this morning she had returned.
I was interviewed on BBC local radio yesterday about making ends meet, I did manage to mention marbles.
Only 2 more days of work, roll on the weekend, not that it will be very restful, we are spending Fri & Sat helping some friends move & Sun DSS & his GF are arriving to stay for a week.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

morning snowy and all to follow!

Haven't been on much lately as i've been rushing here, there and everywhere - wading through my to-do list!!! Sun is shinning here, which is good cos I have to put the swimming towels out on the line! Kids have painted eggs to take to school for their easter competition.
I'm off to the gym this morning.

So nothing much exciting in my life either snowy!!

Have a good day everyone !! xx

Wishing you strength and hugs Smokey.

Hugs to anyone else who wants one.

Not much OS going on around here, too much studying although I did manage to take millions of bottles to the bottle bank yesterday  . Just can't wait to declutter this house, I just can't stand all this c**p hanging around. Think I might get rid of all my ornaments and books!

Not back into work again until Saturday am. Have managed to sort out my Athens registration so I can log in and get the articles I need for my course. Am on a night on Sunday so hope to do that then if things are quiet.

Will probably have cauliflower cheese for lunch, cottage pie for tea. Also going to see my MIL as she is really unwell with her back.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning Snowy & everyone else..

((((hugs)))) smokey; I hope that although you have a heavy heart, you are doing ok & have family around you, as well as your friends on here to keep you going, especially at those moments where you just want to run from it all.

I can see a glimpse of blue sky out of the window, a day in the office today with a student colleague coming to shadow & see what goes on in fostering :) Then we're meeting a couple of others for lunch, so will be good - feeling a bit stressed. Roll on the Easter weekend, time to bake/potter & just be OS!

Hester - I'm not quite sure of the history of Katy, although I read your blog to get an idea (terminally nosey, me!) - I think I would have been tempted to commit murder by now...!! (or at the very least dangle her upside down from the ceiling for a few hours... lol!!!)

    Have a good day all!!

    Hester, marbles
Shez, you have your washing on the line - it will be as stiff as a board :D

Well, lost another 2.5 lbs at Slimming World yesterday, so having another green day, so savoury rice for lunch, and low fat sausage casserole in the slow cooker for dinner.

Work today, and it is freezing, so will have to dig my thermals out - mind you, have just seen the weather forecast for the weekend, and I will definitely need them for our holiday in the caravan next week.

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning All

Still barking like a dog here. Think I've got the bug that went around before Christmas, which people couldn't shift for several weeks. Joys.

Got my Personal Development Review at work this morning. Basically a tick the box for management. Nothing ever comes out of them.

Doing very well on not spending any money on unnecessary items. Did treat myself yesterday, but it's the first time in weeks.

We haven't been food shopping for three weeks now. So living out the store cupboard:T Amazing how much is hidden in that freezer! Also haven't bought any more fruit teas for work, but raiding the many, many boxes I have stashed at home, so saving money there too.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning All :hello:

    Hugs to Smoky :kisses3:

I'm starting with a head cold so I feel like a huge pile of pooh . Enough grumbling from me - I have nothing at all to complain about at all :o.

Non uniform day for DD2(11) so I'll be taking a mini Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus to school this morning. What is it with leg warmers and drain pipe trousers? I haven't seen these since the 80s but now they're 'cool'. Need to buy new school trousers for DS1(13). The ones he's had since Christmas are flapping round his ankles and he has difficulty doing them up. Must stop feeding him .

We're having cheese and potato pizza for tea. Never had it before, but we've recently bought Sam Stern's Get Cooking ( ahhh - now I understand DS1's growth spurt) and this is one of the recipes we haven't tried. Pizza without tomato will be strange, but I'll give it a go.

Need to start batch baking too. Made a lemon drizzle cake yesterday which didn't even get chance to cool down properly. Kids & their friends demolished it like a cloud of locusts .

Well I'd best get on. I haven't a clue what the kids are having in their packed lunches yet. Another case of "Fridge Surprise" for lunch I'm afraid.

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

    Morning all.

Hugs and my thoughts to any one who needs them, especailly Smokey.

Blue sky and sunshine today so it's out through the forest with the dogs at some point.

(Oh heck, I've got the "Bill and Bens" again. You have to see the rubbish I'm typing to believe It  )

Day off today so I've got shopping (whoopee!!) at Te$co's and might sneak into Argos for a bm :D and possibly a new oil-filled heater for the motorhome, the old one has just gone south and if it's as cold this weekend as they say, I'd like to keep the old girl aired until I move in. Have to find a knitting shop for pointy things and stringy stuff. No, I wasn't joking so watch this space :rotfl:

Breakfast time next, looks like Angel Delight and leftover pasta  Aint life grand :p

    Take care all.
