  • Hey... i got a phone call last night from someone called 'Liza' and she told me a Sales Manager is going to call me back today at 16.30 for a phone interview.

Does anyone have any advice?? Also, my office is kinda in my bedroom so I was wondering will this be a problem?? I don't have a phone line connected yet either.

    Hi
A lot of people do work from bedrooms/kitchens/garages etc. You have to ensure it is quiet- no dogs barking or children crying or neighbours fighting lol. It can be difficult to try to stop the noises but it is something you have to do. also you cant have other people in the room with you. You will have customers details etc and these must be kept private. You will need a landline phone- not a mobile and a broadband connection.

I'm hoping for a bit of technical help if anyone can.

I applied to TeleTech and was contacted asking me to do a telephone interview tomorrow (obviously I agreed lol).

I have received an email asking me to do the technical and skills assessments. I logged into the workbooth site to do the tech test - and have been told my laptop isn't sufficient due to it's speed!

Apparently it's only running at 691.4 MHz - but according to my laptop, it has a 1.6ghz processor.

Now I know the speed can fluctuate depending on what you're running etc - but this has come of a bit of shock tbh. If I can't get it to shift it's backside into a higher gear, I have no chance of moving forward in my application!

    Can anyone advise?

    Laptop details are as follows:

    Acer Aspire 9303WSMi
    AMD Turion 64 x 2 Mobile Technology (1.6GHz, 2 x 512kb L2 cache)
    60GB HDD
    2GB DDR2

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hiya guys,

Having passed the online assessments last week, I had my telephone interview with a Teletech recruiter yesterday.

She called me back a couple of hours later, to let me know I had the job!

I now have to print off / complete / fax off the 'Background Check' form..and this has made my heart sink

Do any of you know just how thorough this check is?

I have a Police Caution from April 2004, but as it's a 'Caution' and the form only asks about 'Unspent Convictions', I can legally tick the 'No' box can't I?

Also, my other concern is that in the small print at the bottom of the Experian Background Check form, they say, that they'll do a Credit Check too *sigh*

I still have 2 Satisfied Defaults (dropping off next Feb), 1 Satisfied CCJ (not dropping of for another 4 years yet), and 1 Discharged Bankruptcy (dropping off in January '09)

I'm so worried that because of this, once they do the check, and it all shows up on my Experian file (which it's bound to, as I've seen it on my credit file online with Experian), Teletech will then withdraw my job offer

One final worry is regarding the references. My last employer of many years was my Dad (which I told her during the interview). Can I put him down as a referee? Also, how do they contact them for a reference? By email / phone / letter?

Have any of you had similar concerns / know how in - depth their checks / references are?

    I really need this job!

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Many Thanks,

    Leigh.

Well i applied and completed all the matchpoint assessments last night, now i'm just waiting on a phone call for a final interview, does anyone know what shifts are currently on offer as this is for a 32 hour position?

Teletech just phoned me to notify me that i passed all of the assessments, however the only hours available are 16:30 till 23:00 during the week and saturday 15:00 till 21:00 so i turned it down as i cannot do saturday afternoon. So for anyone thinking of applying currently they are the only shifts available so if they are not suitable for you then probably best not to waste your time!!

    Hello Leigh

    Don't Panic!

Ok, when you fill out Section 3 of the Experian form (the blank page where you can add more info) be honest and list everything as you have done here, and if the CCJ's are satisfied but not showing as satisfied on Experian then you will need to provide proof.

Best advice I can suggest is to have a practice at writing it out concisely and neatly (with as much info as possible) and end it off with something like "Please contact me if you require further inforamtion".

Honesty really is the best policy in this case and they will look for it.
It is better to tell them as much as you can before they find it.

    Good Luck :)
