    Hi with the weather turning colder can anyone recommend any warm puddings. Also some that can be made in advance would be fab.

    This time of year, blackberry and apple (all free if you go foraging.) Either stewed with custard, or made into a crumble or pie.
    Or back on the apple theme, baked apples with sultanas.
    All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

    Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    You can make up a batch of crumble topping in advance and freeze portions.

    Then just find some fruit, heat and add the crumble topping and bake or even grill the topping.

    Suet puddings and sponges are easy to do in the microwave byt do not colour up.

    Do you get that custard is my very favourite hot pud, I will eat it with anything.

  • Spotted !!!!!!! (with Lumpy Custard)

    4 oz Self Raising Flour
    pinch salt
    2 oz Atora shredded suet
    2 oz caster sugar
    2 oz currants
    2 oz mixed peel
    1 medium egg, beaten
    Juice of a lemon
    Add custard, let skin form on it, then reheat.
    Sure will put them hairs up your back. Beard Hugs to all!
