I have just had for tea an apple crumble which I made the topping for and stewed the apple earlier today-it was delicious!!!

I had it with a spoonful of homemade blackcurrant jam and Cornish icecream.

Is that the one that you pour boiling water over the top? My Mum makes that and it's lovely :D
  • Magic Chocolate Pudding

Make a basic chocolate sponge and put it into a baking dish.
In a jug put in 4 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa then pour in boiling water to make up 1litre and stir well.
Pour this over the sponge mix (Looks awful at this stage but do not panic) and put in the oven at 170ºc.
Bake until a skewer into the sponge not down to the bottom of the dish comes out clean and all the liquid has made a lovely sauce at the bottom of the sponge........luverly
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

i picked up a recipe sheet in one of the supermarkets yesterday for pear & apple pie.

I'd forgotten about pies where you just roll out a big circle of pastry & heap a mound of fruit in the middle then bring up the edges of the pasty as far as they'll go - they don't cover the fruit entirely.

Doesn't always look pretty but can taste pretty good ;) like this one from BBc Good Food recipe-image-legacy-id--5337_12.jpg
  • Hi there,

I'm not sure I managed to have 4 children the eldest of whom is 13 & not really cook many puddings?
I can't even think of what to make which is daft as if someone else was asking the question I'd be able to come up with loads of ideas. Having exhausted my mental list already this week (crumble & microwave sponge pud) I need help !!!!!
Please spam me with suggestions of cheap homely puddings or point me in an obvious direction so my bambinos can have some yummy warm puds this winter
    thanks in advance

If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
