I'm just glad I don't fund the BBC and its all legal and above board.

    Me too.
It's just a simple case of ignoring all communication with the BBC

A policy I have been successfully pursuing, for over 3 years. :)

However I doubt I would pay if the model was subscription and the BBC know it. They need to hang onto the TV license or it will finish them.

The problem is less and less people are watching live and the BBC know this which is why I've said they want something else so they can keep mugging the British public

It doesn't need a new "internet licence".

All BBC/TVL have to do is to get a high court judge to rule that, because of all the live streaming, the internet has become a "broadcast medium" under the terms of the existing act.

Just before lunch would probably be the best time.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

So, anyone watching/recording live TV, via the internet, would require a TV Licence.

How would that different from the current situation
  • Why do I have to pay for a full 1year when if I do not use my car I can apply for a SORN this should be available for a Tv license

Don't, cancel your BBC TV Licence and just use catchup. It's easy to do, you simply have zero communication with them (BBC) afterwards so they can't set you up for anything (BBC commission making goons)

I have found that when you buy a recording device with Freeview built-in ie a DVD/Bluray recorder or DVD/VCR combination unit you don't get hounded unlike you do with the purchase of a television set. Presumably this is because people use them to watch DVD's and VHS family tapes mainly and that anomaly is based upon the fact that people don't necessarily watch tv with these devices-true or false?

If you are going to buy something (to watch catchup) its best to visit the store and pay cash so they can't take address etc from debit/credit database. You just give a dummy name and address to them then which is quite legal and stops more threats from the BBC ;)

    What methods do you recommend?

I have seen various suggestions to use services such as TVCatchup and Youview and to use different equipment such as simple PC to TV, a smart PVR such as Humax DTR-T1000, a smart TV, etc.

What are the pros and cons of each method?

    Thanks.

You can obtain a refund for unused quarters of a TV Licence. Combine that with payment by installments and you get the result you are after.
