I cannot emphasise too strongly how bad an idea this is.

Aw corny, where is your sense of fun?

A man (or woman's) home is their castle and they have the right to defend it from the onslaught of these nasty little people!!:D
Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !

In opposing TVL's abuses of the law, I don't want to see the public abusing the law. Simple as that.

No. In the UK your rights to physically defend your home are very limited indeed.

Speaking to someone at work yesterday as I'm having a TV licence for the 6 nations to watch at home. He said do you need one if you watch it at the pub or parents? Interesting question I'm not sure, anyone?

Most of the games will be watched at home anyway, but curious.

No idea how long the 6 Nations is, but you can obtain a refund for unused quarters of a TV Licence, so your minimum commitment is 3 months (£37 ish). I have also heard reports that if you pay by monthly DD, they let you cancel within the first month.

The Pub would need a Licence, yes. You personally would not need one (no more than you need a Driving Licence to get on a bus). Without being rude about your colleague - seriously, this is what he thinks?

It's OK the Government just announced that they are scrapping the TV license because TV's are everywhere (in Hospitals, Airports and even my Bank has one).

They are replacing it with the Breathing License, there will be no exceptions, YOU ALL MUST PAY!!

The new BL (still Crapita) will work like this

    KnockKnock,
    Who's there
It is the Breathing License Inspector, we know you are breathing so let us in
    No
If you just answer the door we will see you breathing and so may fine you £10,000
Foxtrot Oscar, I have my own tank imported from Iceland, I do not breath UK air
Let me in or I will get a warrant, I just looked through the window and saw you breathing without a mask
No, I am exempt anyway, I have COPD from all the smog
Let us in so we can bully and intimidate you
    Oh all right then
Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !
  • BBC iPlayer has a facility where, if a programme has already started, you can watch it 'live' but from the beginning e.g. if you've missed the first 15 mins of Countryfile you can re-start. Does this constitute 'live' TV, since you are in effect watching something after it's been broadcast?

You need a licence for this.

Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition
