Cardew and myself have discussed the BG "click 5" tariff on another thread in the past.
I categorically proved that Ebico was the cheapest for what BG itself describes as average usage.

Of course Cardew had to juggle the figures and come up with some fantastic usage (some amount that you would need to use to heat an average castle)
so as to prove BG could be cheaper.

I don`t know if Cardew is in the employ of BG but he seems hell bent on defending them at every chance.
One thing about good old Car is he is quite amusing in some of his fantasy ravings.

So have you 'categorically proved' the nonsense you posted in Post #12 of this thread? This is what you do so often - post nonsense(thanked by Icefall?), never retract that nonsense, lay low and then resurface

For my part, far from defending BG, their customer service has been dreadful and that alone would justify people leaving that company.

Although I have never used Ebico, from the consistent reports I have seen on this forum their service(via Southern) is one of the best. I have many times suggested that people look at their tariffs.

What I object to, is the stupid & unobjective attacks on BG(and other companies.) Posts that are laced with invective, misinformation and lies in equal merit.

This is supposed to be a forum where readers can form a balanced opinion of the merits and demerits of the various utility companies.

There is something rather small-minded about people who make a decision to join a company and then have to constantly justify that decision to themselves and everyone who cares to read. The 'look at me - aren't I clever' syndrome!

Ebico, visit their site and see their prices for your area and if you are an average user they may be for you.
If you know your annual usage you can easily work out whether they are the best deal for you.

What really annoyed people who are with BG is the slap in the face when they massively increased their prices recently but then had the damn cheek to brag about their £570 million profits.

Thanks for that! The inlaws pay via a Card and key on their meters, but I am worried about them being left with a bill because the meter hasn't been updated. Is there anyway I can check this for them or are the meters updated via the card/key they insert?

I can`t answer that but here is a freefone for Southern who manage Ebico accounts and they may be able to help.

These increases do not apply to Ebico

I have just spoken to Ebico (SSE customer service) and they have advised that at this moment Ebico have made no announcement at all regarding price increases.

The advisor also said that despite SSE prices increasing, Ebico are a completely seperate company, and are in no way tied to SSE in respect to pricing or anything else. SSE supply Ebico with G/E and provide their customer service, but that is all. They do not set Ebico's prices.

So far then good news for Ebico customers.
