  • Yup, everytime we go to America our suitcases are completely empty. We OH even puts another suitcase in the empty one because he buys so much.

Lilmisss - i'm exactly the same, i'm a big kid at heart.

Lol laughing-smiley-014.gifthats a good idea of your OH's. Can you bring back as much as you want? I can remember a mate of mine went to US and brought tones of clothes, she took off all the tags and roughed them up to look like they had been worn. Coz of VAT or something??
    Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:j
Weekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/175
  • Yeah, thats right Maria. We have to make sure all the tags are off, otherwise we could have to pay VAT.

I'm soooo excited, i want it to be Christmas now :-)

  • Right, i have set myself a little challenge, to save £800 spending money by 22nd December when we fly out.

This is how i will hopefully do it:

    September - £150
    October - £150
    November - £250
    December £250

I MUST check the dollers weekly to find good deals. At the moment the doller is pretty low, which just sucks. I'm hoping it improves before December.

I have just worked out that by the end of 2008 i will still have £1,000 left to still repay, but that will be to my parents.
  • Good luck Hayley :)

  • Thanks Lilmiss.

I have however changed it slightly because off my holiday to Las Vegas in November. September i will save zilch for NYC, October i will save £150, November i will save £350, December will save £450 as i get paid a day before we fly - woohoo!!!

I already have £750 saved for Las Vegas, so any money i come back with i will put towards Christmas hols.

I have designed two countdown timers on my internet explorer homepage, one for Las Vegas and one for NYC lol. So everyday when i load up my laptop and click on the internet i see how long i have left :j
  • Just checked my countime timer, not long now until Vegas :-)

I thought tonight would be a good day to post in my diary, mainly because its a Friday night and i'm indoors having a quiet evening and saving my pennies.

Most of Septembers pay will be put towards the Christmas holiday to NYC, so October will be a month of no fun and just spending all my time indoors saving money, which i don't mind that much, especially as its getting bloody cold in the evenings now.

Dollers doing well at the mo so i'm happy, need to purchase my holiday money next month, and if it gets better than what it is now i may just buy it early.

Not really much to update my diary with, not overspending and not added to my debt, so all in all been a good month so far.

    xx
