Martin,
It's still pretty sluggish in the forums.
I notice that the site is serving images more than it needs to, if you have plenty of ram in the server then it may be adviseable to "front side" the webserver with a squid cache to give the place some much needed va-va-voom and removign some load from apache.
Or better still off load the image hosting onto a seperate box perhaps?
To be honest yabb being perl/cgi doesn't help much as it's seperately used for every session/user a php driven forum like vB with a php accecelerator (mmcache is fast and free) would be an ideal solution, but yabb has the advantage of being freeIt's a shame you have to hack the board to add gzip compression too, this speeds up user sessions by about 80% but it does increase the work apache does so there is a tradeoff point there somewhere.
I guess it'll be ok when the noobs leave the slow board0 -

Yes, I've been getting a lot of 'document cannot be displayed' and taking loads of time to move from one thing to the next but I thought it was 'cos I am on Money Saving Old Style candle powered dial up and not broadband.0

That's Internet Explorers way of telling you it got no data back from the server (again probably due to scripts timeouts or a broken script (probably the former)).
in my case its firefox telling me that.0 -
The search option seems down to me. It just takes forever and then comes up with page cannot be displayed. The rest of the site is still working fine though.0
