Can I join in again this week please?

I started well last week but tailed off dramatically towards end of week. Spent two whole days helping DS1 and DS2 in search for jobs as they have both left uni. They even asked me to write their personal statements!! I didn't, but need something to help them. Any PSHE teachers out there? I used to have some really good work sheets that gave lists of info to choose from to help write personal statements. I lost everything in the floods.

I am off to the gym in a minute for my HHE.

yesterday DH vacuumed whole of downstairs and DD tidied lounge, hall and stairs. Just a little dusting for me today then??

As a PSHE teacher I had to teach my own kids very personal topics along with the rest of the class. My kids were fine but usually the other lads were so embaressed they had to sit with their heads inside their sweatshirts because I was someone's Mam.

I was all full of good intentions to join in this week but I seem to have lost my motivation. Our house seems to have turned into a money pit! First the tumble dryer broke, so lots of washing everywhere, we have a leak that no-one can find so have a lovely damp wall in my living room above our window, wall is crumbling and blinds are ready to fall down. Flat above has had a leak and its came through living room and kitchen ceiling, to top it all off hubby tried to break something from the freezer in half using the worktop and now theres a big chunk out of it. So I'm sitting here thinking what is the point? In my defence I have made the beds, tidied kids room, tidied living room but still to hoover and tidy kitchen but I just can't seem to get round to it

    Right.. I am FURIOUS!!!

at 9am I got a phone call from OT saying they were cancelling DS2's appointment and would send him another one.. I had already sent him to school with a note to meet me so I had to ring the school and get someone to locate him and tell him I wouldn't be going.. after getting him all psyched up to go they let him down.. there will be hell to pay over this.. the assistant manager of the education and health service was coming with me.. so I'll be watching the heads roll!!!

Off to bank to put some money in for my mother.. and need to collect tiddles.. so... back soon when I'll have to complete my ENTIRE list by 3pm!!!

Anyone up for a 2HC?? lol (2 hour challenge!! )

You've got every right to be furious pigpen I would be too, they don't realise the hassle they cause when they cancel things, and if they do, they don't care, what a faff and I hope lots of heads roll.

Sharon it's difficult to drum up motivation when things are falling apart around you - literally lol if you can summon up a teenie bit of enthusiasm to be pro-active today get on to the landlord/council/upstairs person and get the damp sorted, then you'll feel better which will lead you to sorting everything else out that needs doing. Is it feasable to take off said bit of worktop and bash hubby with it?

Thanks embb, already bashed the hubby over the head for it, it is only a small piece of worktop that came off that can get glued, it was just the icing on the cake. Told the neighbours about the leak and they are going to contact their insurance. The damp at the window is a long-running thing that we have had many builders out to look at we are ground floor and water could be penetrating the building anywhere up to 4 storeys high. They can fix it cosmetically but as soon as it rains it starts again. I am in a long running battle with our council about this but as we are all owners in our building they don't want to know. Anyway I've managed to empty the dishwasher and hang up the washing, off to hoover and dust living room. Taking it one job at a time

Morning all, Pigpen sorry to hear they have let you down.

Just popping in while on hold to council, about bins, have been on hold for 15 minutes, I didn't see a bin wagon here on Saturday but then only half the neighbours have put bins out today, so maybe they did get emptied on Saturday and we didn't see them.......bother.....

Housework wise, need to put DS1s room back to normal in a mo, kitchens done so will do living room after that, need to pull the sofas out to get to my 'cleaning stash' anyway,. We've got quite a lot of 'things' dotted about which shouldn't be where they are etc.
One day I might be more organised...........
