Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15 march. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning!!
(((HUGS))) to all those who want/need them ... especial Smokey and Benthosboy.
I went to bed after Ant & Dec last night so have woken up nice and early and refreshed
. I'm going to try and get the last lot of washing and ironing done before the rest of the gang wakes up. Then after they've had breakfast I'm delegating cleaning floors and bathroom
 I've discovered the great smoothie which gives you a bit of a kick in the mornings ... pineapple, mango & lime
it's really nice.
We're off swimming later this morning and then for a carvery. When we get back we've got some thank you cards to make before snuggling up to watch Dancing on Ice.
It has been raining solidly since yesterday morning
Hope everyone has a great Sunday ... I'm off to put washing m/c on and make a coffee before reading end of last nights thread.
Luv Jet xx

Morning jet & kyle, and all to follow
Will catch up on rest of yesterday's thread shortly. But hugs to those who need them still.
Awake early as always even though kids gone to their dad's & the she-devils.... Although that will be stopping again from the sound of it - they've not been for a year & a half (as she nearly assaulted oldest DD), started up 3 weeks ago & already she says they can't stay over as she doesn't like "the lounge being turned into a bedroom". Which obviously is why she insisted on buying a sofabed that isn't to be used.....
Then exDH is telling me he wants to leave her but hasn't got money... (he's been saying this for past 2 years since he married her though) and even before that. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I suggested he look into whether any friends could put him up for a few weeks while he raised the deposit money to rent somewhere (he earns about £300 pw, gives me £70 & £15 joint pocket money separately to DD's; she has all his other wages & controls his bank cards.....)
So we'll see on what he says when he brings them back later - am tempted to offer to lend him cash for a deposit to rent a flat...!!
Meantime, will get some washing on, make something new & exciting in the BM, lol (will see what catches my eye from the recipe book - Chelsea buns perhaps); chicken & sweetcorn chowder and maybe some cakes too. Love pottering & baking when I haven't got an essay deadline approaching.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

catowen.....how did you sleep last night?? better i hope......and how is poor dd?
well my girls are curled up eating a bowl of dry cereal(their request) in front of tom and jerry!
so far i've changed the waashing and took dry off radiators and put other wet on...its been raining continuously since fri night here so no hope of drying outside.and i've also sorted out some clothes in selling that will be being picked up.....£25 for a few of my dd's old clothes that i sorted out yesterday :-) i also listed a lot of clothes on ebay yesterday so keeping my fingers crossed it does well.
hubby is back from a weekend away tonight so i'll be deluged with washing no doubt.
right best go and sort out a plan of action for today so im not just sat here all day!!! hope you all have good days.0 -
Morning everyone.
It's raining again which makes a whole week of rainy stuff. It's not nice is it? I want to get the veggie patch started but it's just mud.
I am forgoing church this morning and instead going this evening.
I have to put a nice piece of beef in the oven and have a 12 o clock dinner. (Tesco have nice beef roasting joints on at £1.52 lb)
2 of the kids are working, so I will be ferrying them about as well, and going to work myself later... So a quiet morning will be welcome. Might even get to read the paper for a change.
Have a nice day everyoneNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning folks!
Hugs to those who need them. The weather here is equally grey and dull but mustn't complain as I need to have a day of domesticity to catch up. Yesterday we had my sister's civil partnership celebration which went off a treat but I now need to do the bits I would have usually got through then.
All the bins need emptying and I've got a big pile of ironing to get through if the small person is to have any school uniform to wear for tomorrow! OH will run the BM shortly and I am trialling a new recipe for turkey and chocolate chilli I've found in the SC. Thought it sounded a bit different and I know that they regularly mix beef with dark choc in South America so we shall see:D
Hope you all have a good day!

Morning all.
This seems to have ended up on the other daily thread so I'll copy it here as well.
It's shaping up to be another por day in Dorset but am I bothered? Serpently not
I'm still laughing after the Daily Thread last night and I may have misread it but I think Haribo Junkie offered me the spare room :j . What a lovely gesture :rotfl: The new sc seems to have worked, in spite of the outside of the cooking part getting a touch hot  I opened the kitchen door to the most fab smell of chicken cooking. Trouble is, I'm not sure how to turn stock into soup
Again, if anyone needs hugs, you can gladly have mine. I feel like a new man today, although I'd probably be better off with a new woman

:hello: Good morning!
Palm Sunday already! Soon be Easter! :icotbaske
Has the knitted squares thread been locked?
I have been knitting so fast in order to finish off the dolly blanket and be able to start a square!
OH is still suffering, his poor face is completely numb on one side and eating is such a problem now, he has a cup of tea and a straw for now and I will make sure his eye drops go in soon. We still don't know if it has peaked yet or what can be done! So worried about him.
(((hugs)))) to smokey, benthosboy, PP, and anyone who could use one.

Morning Everyone
Up again, while the rest of the household sleeps - so me time on here. Got up this morning to find that DS & GF must have been hungry when they got in last night, they set off going for an Indian, but must have come back via the night club route, never heard them, but the packet of scampi they cooked is on the dish they cooked them on (on the sink fairly tidily) and a jar of peanut butter was on the worktop, with the crust missing off the loaf. Made a coffee come in here and left it for later.
CM - fancy casting Nasturshams - not a drop of alcohol passed my lips yesterday (shame eh! and plenty of bottles just sat here wanting opening).
Just been talking on MSN to a friend in NZ I got to know while doing family history research. She is a real scream, and I always end up sat here either giggling or smiling when we talk. She has far too much energy for a 70 year old, but hope I am like her when I get there. Another "virtual" friend, but it works.
Cleared the ironing last night, apart from one pair of trousers for me where the hem had come down on one leg, so that's a job for later. I think DS brought over 2 weeks of washing home, so it has been like a chinese laundry here, but think we are on top now, I say the washer is there get on with it, but DH takes pity on him and keeps putting loads on.
Time for another coffee.
((((hugs)))) all round. Take care DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0
