Would you use a shopping trolley?

I'm posting here because I want to save using plastic bags
I try to avoid supermarkets. I use local shops and the market. I also try to avoid plastic bags. I do have a huge wicker basket but it is heavy and some times I worry it will break.
I'm considering a shopping trolley. There are some modern ones around now.
Would you use one or not be seen dead with one?
Are the soft fold up ones any good or is one with a frame better in the long run?

I wouldn't be without it! I got it in the Habitat sale so it's relatively fashionable.
I used to rely on a huge pushchair basket but now my youngest is 4 that's out of the question.
Mine is thick canvas but in the future i'd invest in a waterproof framed one. there are some nice ones in Debenhams.
Go for it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner!0 -
Did you ever remember years ago, wee old women walking about pushing prams and when they went past you they had their shopping in the pram and not a baby to be seen!Live on a little over £4k challenge

Morrison's do some excellent green foldable fabric bags. They hang on beams near the till. You could break your no supermarket rule to grab a few. They are the best I have seen. I keep some in my rucksack.
EDIT: This is them. They are not made by Morrison's so they may be available elsewhere: -

Looby did you know about the Old Style Chic Shopper Club?0 -
I use mine weekly, and I picked an oldfashioned foldable red and green tartan one. I wouldn't be without it - it's like Mary Poppins's carpet bag! Plus I get to chat to little old ladies as I go.0

I have a shopping trolley as I can't deal with heavy loads due to RSI and a frozen shoulder. A friend came shopping with me and was taking the mick even saying she wouldn't admit to being with me if asked because I was using one.....Two hours round town later it wasn't me that was moaning about my hands hurting and my arms being tired lmao!
I think mines pretty young looking and you can get some great patterned brightly coloured ones now too.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -

the Morrisons tote looks better than the one I got from Asda (with a Pink Ribbon on it) or the one I got from Sainsburys: they both have a 'waist', ie the bag curves in half-way up and then out again. The lady on the till in M's did say the other day that theirs didn't have a waist and I can see that from the piccy. Much easier to pack, the waisted ones drive me round the bend!
I had one when I couldn't drive post-surgery, but TBH I didn't use it a lot: it was too much like hard work hauling it up and down kerbs and on and off the train. Easier to send the boys or get them to come with me.
My dad's used one for years!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I have got one from Ikea it is bright orange. why would you NOT use something that saves on busfares and cuts out painful backs and shoulders!!!
I had a smaller fold up one, the one I have now is framed.
I feel neither daft nor embarassed, I can get a whole weeks' fruit and veg and meat in it, at bargain prices from the market. I could never carry that much shopping in normal bags.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!
