Always remember that a bike with suitable panniers can become a shopping trolley. I used to do all my shopping in mine before we got a car.

Just remembered about my neighbours. We live v close to a supermarket and they have their own Tesco trolley. They keep it in the garden and presumably take it with them when they shop

i won a shopping trolley today on ebay! it is a black one and the fold over flap is zebra print. I will be using it all the time. However last week i also got some reusable bags from woolies at 93p each. They are fantastic. they fold up into a tiny little pouch which live in my handbag and the really good thing is that the handles are long enough to go over your shoulder like a shoulder bag. i really would recommend them.

I live in Spain for part of the year, and EVERYBODY, from young people to grans and grandads, have these trolleys. I've lost count of the number of times I have almost ended up on my (fortunately well-padded) b*m after tripping up on one or more of the darned things strategically placed in the middle of the pavement or in the aisles at the market. No, I do not have one!
  • I have a really nice black one with white floral outline from IKEA - it is really strong and was only £15. I found it so useful when my baby was small enough to carry in a sling. I think people used to think I was a right hippywalking round town with him in a sling a pulling a granny trolley behind me, but I don't care!!! I also used it to get the new year booze home from Tesco ... very useful as many bottle of headache juice. I don't use it now as have the pushchair but will definately use it once he is out of that. Go for it. Join us!:T
All efforts are focused on paying off my credit card - was £5k Sept 08 - NOW £800! This will definately be gone by end of May 09. Then save save save save save save and a bit more saving!

Of course I would! I use one when necessary and have done since I was 18. A bag with wheels/mini suitcase with pully handle is better than hurting my back/shoulders thank you.

we use a shopping trolley when we go into the city to do the fruit and veg shop on the market, its much better than getting a disclocated shoulder lugging tons of veggies about.
mine a real 'old lady' trolley it only cost £3 from a car boot 4 years ago but now all the umph has gone out of the fabric lining + it has a huge hole in the bottom (of the lining not the actuall wire trolley) i must get some strong denim or canvas and make a more modern liner for it.

I too got mine from Habitat where they have a choice of fun prints and have seen funky ones in Ikea and designer ones!! Lived in Paris for 5 years where every chic woman in their Chanel suit and heels would still be pulling one so kind of over the UK granny issues!! Saves my hands lugging back bags of shopping! Go for it - lets change the way people think about shopping trolleys one trolley at a time.......;)

I don't have a trolley but I did have one about 25 years ago when I had a family at home and needed lots of shopping.I could'nt of managed without it.I agree about Paris, this is usual in most European countries in fact. When you think that we all pull our suitcases without any embarrasment why should we be with a shopping trolley which serves the same purpose.I think I would rather pull a trolley than look totally knackered with sore hands carrying a heavy load.I actually know someone who has nerve damage in her finger after carrying heavy plastic bags all of the time. The result of the plastic handle cutting in too tightly.
